I want to order a couple of green laser modules from O-like.com the 50mw and the 120-150mw green laser modules and I wanted to know what are my total battery choices for these modules to perform at thier best. I wanted to use 2 AA batteries for one module the 150mw module and a sure fire alkaline 123 3volt battery for the 50mw green laser module will these work fine? The data sheets read 3-4 volts operating voltage... I know most laser pointer pens use AAA batteries so would my other choices work because I am installing the modules in several ''gaming light guns''. Please respond back if you can help and have actually have worked with these modules before. THANKS.

The voltage on the data sheets go up to 4.2 volts. So I would think the best solution would be a single lion battery. Alternatively 3 nimh batteries would work well also and I highly recommend eneloops. Alkaline batteries sag quickly.

I just put my 100mw olike greeny together today and I used a CR2 energizer lithium. Working fantastic.

Be careful using E2's in AAA laser pen-styles... The voltage is more lik 1.7 volts, and I've broken more than one that way.

Iv'e tried 10440's to find that they cannot handle the high amount of load that they put on the battery. So far the best result ive seen is from cr123 rechargeables i have. Anything in the 3-4.2V range would be ample to power these modules so long as they have a good mah rating.

I wouldn't think so. Two of those things put out almost 9 volts fully charged.

Hello, do you think I should be using 2x aa batteries instead? THey seem to work fine as well. I am only using the cr2 3v lithium cause suzie told me to use them when i asked her what i should be using. Now im confused lol.

I was using only 1 of the 10440's....im not that stupid lol. 9 Volts im sure would kill the module instantly.

Also in reference to AA batteries, I guess it would work, but im not sure what kind of load those alkalines could handle. My 10440 that put out 3.6-4.2V worked at first, but then after about a minute or so of use, they would sag dramatically, i actually blew two of the batteries i had from the quick discharge that the module had. I now use one CR123 rechargeable and it works fantastically. I get about 40-50mins of good use out of it till it needs a charge.
