Hi, I just ordered a True 30mW from DX. Someone recommended NiMH batteries. I noticed there are many different voltages and mAh measurements. Does anyone own this and know which are the most efficient and powerful? I noticed another person's signature on the forum has this laser and said it can light matches / pop balloons. Does that require any modding? Any advice for a new laser owner is welcome! I know nothing about lenses and filters, etc

Thanks again, :)

from what i hear DX is a gamble, some are under, some over-powered.
try use a black marker on the match head and u will definitely need a lens to burn. use energizer lithium cells in it.

The true 30 is actualy a good laser most of the time it does leak ir but not that much, as for burning it will be able to pop a baloon with no lense and with a lense it will probably be able to light a red or sharpied match.

For batteries only choice is sanyo eneloops, there alot better then normal ni-mh batteries in that they hold there charge and dont dishcharge themselves in a month like normal ni-mh do.

Here is what i bought for my nova laser...http://www.amazon.com/Sanyo-Eneloop...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1199755013&sr=8-1

All you need other then that is just a normal ni-mh aaa battery charger.

..lazer... ;D ;D ;D
