The IR is not anywhere near as focused as the green laser will be so by the time it reflects back to your eye it probably will have spread enough so it won't hurt you. If you are going to want to filter the IR you could by a IR filter and fix it to the front of your laser.

Haha

In the video he says "We are, the premier site on the internet right now for buying lasers.... Awesomelasers.com"

Just watching the first youtube video makes it seem like a giant scam.

"The most powerful green laser on the market"

Dude, common sense!

Laser safety goggles are there to protect you from losing your eye if you accidentaly get the beam on the path towards your eye, either reflected or direct.

You do not need the goggles to prevent going blind when lighting a match, but consider missing a match and hitting a mirror/Computer display/ Window / anything else reflective, and hitting your eye - then the goggles come into play.

Why is it so difficult to figure out?
This is like 5th question of same type being asked around in my short time here.
"Do I need goggles if I am burning the match/pointing it around/popping a baloon/anything else".
No, you don't! You need them to protect your eye when the laser beam is going towards it! How it is ending up being pointed at your eye, well, if you cannot figure that out then please step back from the laser immediately!

Jeez!

To answer your original question, I bought my first laser from Awesomelasers, and I'm pretty happy with it. It's a 200mW 405nm pointer. I don't have a LPM (yet), so I can't verify the actual power output, but it puts out a nice, bright violet dot in TEM00 mode with good divergence. I've had it on for over a minute with no signs of overheating, and it's also pretty durable. Once, it got severely overheated due to low batteries, and I was afraid I'd fried it. But after I let it cool down, I put new batteries in it, and it's been working fine ever since.

My laser arrived faster than anything I've ever ordered from China (no surprise there), and it was very well packed to protect it from damage during shipping. Yeah, there are some goofy mistakes on the website, but their products seem fine. I'd buy from them again. $.02

I wonder whats going to happen when the FDA catches wind they are in the US. I'd save my money, because if they go down, and they will, you'll lose your money.

@Eud: I'll see your three and raise a facepalm :na:

Deception, no matter how badly it's done, is still deception. For that reason alone I'd suggest people avoid you - if you're willing to lie about who you are to drum up business, what's to say you're not doing it about your products' ratings? Or your warranty offerings?

Side note: drop MS Frontpage, it doesn't help with the general web-friendliness.
