Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0
I think its kinda high for a 500mw, although the threshold is around the right level for a 1 watt. but this is also the green component, so it may be starting to lase a lot lower than 250ma. One watt diodes are <300ma for the threshold. I dont know what the threshold of a 500mw diode is, but I would assume that it is a lot less... around 150ma...
Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0
I hope it is 1 watt however i messed around with one of the diodes which was unfocused and it was more like 500mW but why is it so important if its 1 watt?
Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0
so, is this a cmount diode thats in it? I dont want to take it apart, I might not be able to get it back into the right place very easily... If its a cmount, it would be nice. I think 670ma is too much for a 500mw diode. I hope its a 1 watt diode running half power. (plus if this is the case, it could take an amp. and who knows how much green that would make.)
Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0
Not sure if it a cmount it just looks like a big open can diode and i dont think the crystal will take double the power would be cool if it does that would be like 250mW of green!
Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0
Im still not convinced that thats a safe level for these... I would tend to stay under 500ma if you want to be safe... the diode sure appears like it could be a 500mw diode. :-/
Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0
he isnt saying it needs to be a 1w for anything. He's saying that the operating current of these things is much higher than a 500mw diode should be able to handle.
