Anyone used this laser~Pics inside

First let me say that I am in no way associated with the sale or manufacture of the following product. The person selling these lasers also sells the M3T "Perfect Clone" that stired up a ton of debate in the Incandescent Forum on Candle Power Forums dot com. As far as I can tell, there is no trade mark duplication on this product, but I am curious to know if this is another knock off or if it's an original idea/product.

Clearly it's marked as an AirSoft product, but I am curious to know if it's copy of some other company's work or if this is an AirSoft market only laser.

Anything stand out as a bad idea or problem about the laser?

Anyone own one of these?

That would work fine I suppose if all you are using it for is Airsoft... I am sure it is a clone of some variety, but then again if it works, no biggie, right ? I have seen a few of these types of lasers with horrible beam specs, and loads of IR in the beam - but acceptable, I suppose for the short distance that you would be using it for. The MAIN thing I would be concerned about is zapping someone in the eyes with this during a match....if they are not all wearing 532nm protective goggles, they would be screwed. If you are planning on getting this JUST because it is an inexpensive greenie, I would suggest looking elsewhere. Let us know WHAT you pan on using hte laser for ?

I believe Marco Nero did a review on it, though I may be thinking of a diff product. The end result was so-so as I recall, but again, my memory likes to play tricks on me.

12 mv??? What the ???? :-? :-? What does that mean? Millivolts? I thought lasers output was determined in mW...milliwatts. :-?

I'd like to get a laser to mount on my AR15 for close quarters where quick precision is needed . I don't intended to use the laser I posted for that but I was wondering if there was a more durable and original version of that laser available since many of the airsoft products are cheaper knock offs of the durable and combat worthy originals.

Frankly, I can't drop more than $300.00 or so on this laser setup so it might just have to wait until I get more funds. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome.

Green lasers are hardly suitable for any other gun application... the whole DPSS construction is just to delicate to be mounted to a rifle that fires actual bullets.

That's why they have Red lasers to go with guns. They're mainly diodes, no delicate crystal alignment for you to mess up.

ANY green laser that I have seen that would mount on a gun would end up being disposable. So, if you are dead set on trying this out, buy the cheapest green you can find, and hope it hold out past the second shot !

i imagine its been built for use with a airsoft gun so i cant see it breaking by shooting with it..

I have a similar laser that put out about 70mW (50% IR ) - haven't tested it in a while and may not have the exact mW correct though.

I wouldn't mount a green laser to my weapon in a combat situation - the beam gives away your position.

Green would be very good for daylight situations where a red dot would be lost. But I definitely agree you'd want red for nighttime use. However, for a civilian with an AR-15/M4 type of rifle, I'm dubious that you'd need the laser at any distance you'd be justified in shooting in self defense. In home-defense situations, the instinctive pointing of a rifle, and the longer sight radius makes you much more accurate than a handgun. Unless you live in a mansion, hitting a man-sized target at any indoor distance should be easy with a rifle for anyone with even a modicum of practice. I'd personally suggest investing in a white-light to aid target identification.

With the QD lever arm for rail mounting, $68 isn't too bad, a cheap QD lever mount like that is probably worth about $20 or so alone. I might be tempted to buy this laser for goofing around and "range queen" duty (i.e. "Impressing your fellow gunnies at the range with a pimped out firearm.") However, for an actual home-defense piece, I would not trust my life to an Airsoft-grade clone. It would only be one of the top tier dedicated firearm accessory manufacturers I'd trust, SureFire, LaserMax, Insight etc. and those units do all blow your budget at $400 on up.

What would clinch it for me as a worthy "toy duty" purchase would be knowing the diameter of the ring-mount that holds the laser. It's most likely one of the standard scope/accessory sizes, but I'd want to know what it was 3/4" or 1" probably. If the laser died, and the ring was the right size, you could mount a flashlight in there, one of the higher quality Chinese 3W Cree LED lights, or a Surefire G2 Nitrolon with a Cree upgrade, (I think a G2 with Cree just got released) so it wouldn't be a total waste.

A greenie is superb in daylight for hunting....Not knowing about lasers when I did the mod below I guess I got away with it because it is a precharged rifle with next to no recoil......it has had 100's of shots fired since fitting it without the laser missing a beat. The sight shown above at least is a dovetail fit so should stay in calibration, most of the reds I have come across clamp to the scope and very soon get knocked and moved.

All I can say is that if your hunting animals, vermin etc then use a red laser as this does not startle them first. But target and swat the green will be fine...
