I bought one a few days back. I'll do a quick review once I get it, but in the mean time has anyone purchased Focalprice.com offers 30mW Green Beam Laser Pointer with Keychain (Black) ,discount 30mW Green Beam Laser Pointer with Keychain (Black),30mW Green Beam Laser Pointer with Keychain (Black) products, low price 30mW Green Beam Laser Pointer with Keychain ?
At $10 I really don't care how well it works as long as it does, but I'm interested to hear anybody else's experience with it. Plus, it appears to be a boost driver (it actually runs of 1 AAA) and pumping an IR diode at this power takes some work, so the driver could ostensibly be used to pump other diodes off a single 1.5v battery, and at around $10 it's a steal.

Is this, or can this really be truly 30mw with only 1 AAA?

Also, does anyone know if the head screws off to use different caps?

If it is anything like their 200mW for 30 keychain it will be about 50% of what it is rated at. And I have to say that I am very happy with the two that I got. One came in at 128mW and the other 116mW not IR filtered. Extremely visible beam and looks great pointed into the night sky. Check my sig for more details.

On the 200mW it said it was a AAA but it was really a 10440 which was included. Also It does not look like this one includes a battery.

I was gonna go with that 200mW DTR, I've read all about it, but I didn't want to use 10440s. I image that 30mW is easy, and much more likely to be the actual output than the 200mW one. With any luck this thing will arrive next week, I should be able to do a comparison to my other greenie then... sadly I have no idea the output of said greenie :p

me - putting out 20mW
green or green+IR?

Also, some people are reporting the ability to pop balloons with these... there is a youtube video of some guy doing just that.

I would bet it takes a 10440. Don't know if you saw the edit on my previous post I did but the 200mW said AAA battery on the site when I ordered it but it actually uses a 10440.

Yeah, I know, but I'm pretty sure this one takes an actual AAA (at least according to the reviews). That's the main reason I bought it...

Did you end up buying or receiving this?

I'm really in the market for a new, durable, keychain laser.

It arrived, DOA. What is focalprice's policy on this?
They should give you a replacement.
You start a ticket at their site and request an RMA.
They ask you to "prove" that it's DOA (pics, vid, etc...).
Then they ask you to send it back to them.
When (if) they receive it, they will check it out, and re-send you a replacement (hopefully). :san:

I recently purchased this laser, for the price its great. The keychain is very weak though, it broke off in about 5 minutes.
