@dblkion:

You are doing fine.

Your battery is almost fully charged at 4v.

A clamp meter is a type of multimeter.

Have you tried bypassing the switch on the back with a paper-clip or other metal?

This may be a dumb question but, you never put the battery in the wrong way did you?

Nope, I've read a thread where a guy killed his laser by doing so, and in her mail Faona clearly said + on tailcap.

update :

She asked me to send it back, the shipping cost is on me.

This shop looks a bit crappy, it should be removed from the "first laser for beginners guide"

I also might have a problem with mine. I bought a 200mW-flx a year ago and it worked wonderfully. About a few months back the original battery failed on me and I decided to look around the state for a replacement before trying to order one online again. After nothing was found locally, I decided to order one of the sanyo 2600 mah batteries from here. I got it in the mail today and as it seems charged from the indication on the charger, the laser does not want to turn on.

UPDATE: I got it working again, going strong like when I first got it!

Update :

I had to send the laser back to china, I paid 15€ for the shipping out of the 50 the laser costed me ... It should have arrived a week ago, and the rayfoss customer support say they don't have it, So now I need to find a way to track the package, no idea if I can do that btw.

I will never buy to that shop again..

Seems like rayfoss is going down hill.

Considering I just lmped another underspec laser from o-like I got today, they aren't far behind. (405nm 400mW Waterproof torch doing ~300mW.)

Really hope a new reputable cheap company comes along soon.

So please, delete rayfoss out of the list of decent shops in the beginner guide, they are thieves :/

I still haven't had a bad experience with all the orders (dozens) I have placed with them (including a few months ago).
Last month I received 2 lasers from Rayfoss that were both overspec and Faona threw in 2 free IR filters for me. But, I guess I have been a customer for a while, and she knows I do reviews here at the forums.
Maybe their customer service is going downhill, but you can't blame Rayfoss for the crappy China postal system, or your failure to purchase trackable postage to China.
