I am considering to buy this laser from Aixiz:
532nm 200mW Laser with TTL Modulation, AC 90-240VAC, 5.0VDC input modulation. Adjustable gain and TEC.
They sell it on their website for $165. Does anybody have any experience with it? The specs look good to me. I mailed them about IR and they stated that it is IR filtered with an MK 3 (?) filter. They claim IR output less than 5%.
I tried to google the forum but did not find any clues or reviews. I am looking for good beam specs (~2mm dia, well collimated) for a projector and I don't want to go the expander/collimator route but use the module as is. Price should be around $150 for 200mW+. Is that possible/realistic?
Thanks for your time!

Thanks, I had read some of those before. But I could not find anything on this particular 200mW version. I am not sure if the lower powered modules are an indication for the quality of the higher powered ones, that is why I am looking for infos about the 200mW one.

I finally purchased the 532 nm 200mW Laser with TEC. But I don´t know how to use it. It has no instructions, and I don´t know what to do (and what are them for) with the 4 inputs the board has.

Did you buy it? Could you please explain me what are the 4 inputs??

They seems to be the modulation inputs.... but why I need a modulation input? What a modulation is for?

Thanks,
Ronvi.

If you add a link with all questions it help get faster answers.
like this...
532nm 200mW Laser With TTL Modulation TEC, AixiZ
if you search TTL... more help for just reading.

But I feel friendly today so...

all analog modulation lasers are also TTL.(TTL is all off or all on) A TTL projector can only make seven colors-red, green, blue. teal, yellow , magenta and white(sort of sometimes depending on your labbies balance).
No ttl lasers are analog unless stated.( from off to full power and everything in between)

An analog PJ can make a gazillion colors.:yh:

It is not a good thing to turn a laser off and on quickly without using the TTL:tsk:.

The two extra wires are the modulation 5vdc-- you need not do anything with these unless you want to modulate your laser.
If this labby were analog you would need to apply 5vdc to these wires or the laser IIRC will not come on.

As far as instructions goes.... AixiZ cannot/will not always provide step-by-step as they are not aware of your final use for it and they do not want to accidently give you any mis-information.

. This applies especially to drivers- bare diodes etc. and lastly.... a vast majority of those buy such already know what to do. (or not do):tsk:

If you need more help please PM me-.... asking AixiZ will delay your answers as they send such questions to me for answering anyway.(AixiZ unpaid gnome--lol)

AixiZ has stellar customer support but cannot be totally helpful to those without a basic knowledge. You may need to do some homework..

Thanks for your lines.
I have some questions, I´ll appreciatte if you can answer them.

1) I understand that the two wires ( red and black, white connector) are for putting on/off the laser. I assume that you recommend to use a TTL switch in order to avoid 'rebounds' that can reduce the laser´s life. Is it right? If yes, a TTL NOT gate is enough or I should build a more complicated circuit?

2) At side of the white connector, the laser comes with two pines (labeled J2). What are they for?

Thanks,

not sure I fully understand your question--maybe you can take a few pics?

I own many AixiZ TTL labbies and I just ignore the TTL wires as I have no need to fast off and on rapidly except in a PJ build.. I think thier main use would be when wiring it up for use with other lasers in a TTL projector etc. for that the labbies go off and on a lot in the making other colors.

ok

i am looking now at a PLG-V-H 100mW 532NM LABLASER.
I see betweeen the PS and its fan a white two prong male plug-- thats where you place the ttl plug. IIRC. Yours should lase with or w/o this plug in place. I belive they way the ttl works is when it gets the +5vdc the laser stops- when that is not there it runs. IDKFS. So the green is off for R,B, R+B,and it runs for G, G+R , G+B & 'white'. hope this helps.
