I have the Optotronics 150mW pen, it was my first higher power laser. I would recommend Optotronics for high power 532mW pens.
I've had mine for a year and a half, and it's still outputting around 160mW. It's probably my most used laser, since it's so portable; stick it in your pocket and go!
Optotronics lasers aren't cheap, but in my case, it's been a very well built and dependable little EDC unit. :D

Another +1 for optotronics, my only gripe is that the laser body is longer than many 2AAA pens. I can comfortably clip my laserglow lyra to my breast pocket but for my opto the clip never reaches the pocket. I have to resort carrying it in another way while on the go.

I noticed that too but I'm still blown away by the Opto. Definitely worth the money, will post a review soon

Hm why do the optotronics host look exacatly like those cheap ebay pens? for the price they charge i would say you get ripped off.. you can get a 150mw from laserbtb from under 100$ and i bet its more overspec then that and better host and you can choose from 2 colors too.

Thanks for info, even I am not the one who asked. I didn't know anything about Optotronics until now.

Yep 175mW+ version, it's pretty awesome. Quality outstrips any other hobbyist company out there (except maybe LaserGlow, but I personally haven't had the best experiences with LG)

Definitely recommend Opto over Laserbtb

The laserbtb LP host really isn't as good as you might think it is. The barrel is actually far too wide for AAAs so without modification they rattle around inside it. The tail caps aren't great and neither is the key lock. Power button feels rattly like it's about to fall off. I also have three new wish pens, the older type and the newer heavier type with the longer aperture cap, they aren't without their issues but I actually think they score better than laserbtb LP host. And they have pocket clips!

It's a shame because the LP host is so far away in quality to the PL and HL that you'd think a totally different company made it.

As far as I know the Opto hosts aren't quite the same as the generic eBay pens either, very similar but not exactly the same in dimensions

But why are they so expensive? and the heating on all pens sucks anyway i dont see how anyone can spend over 100$ for a lame pen, its not like 532nm are expensive really i fail to see why they charge so much for them.
Thanks for the info trencheel303 i would think their pens is similar to the pl and hl quality hosts but considering the prices for their pens i would say its ok really and expected in a way, not like you would use the pens as much anyway as the bigger hosts due to poor heatsink.

More portable and easy to carry, really. Puts out 250mW+ at 0.9mm beam diameter TEM00

Damn hwang, you got yourself a real keeper there, that's 40% overspec! The Optotronics all seem to be overspec, but I've never seen one that much over.
I'm sure the thin beam probably makes that 250mW+ look real impressive also! :D

Yea Opto metered it at 188mW and I was like "no way that's way to bright for <200mW, even with this beam diameter" so I fired up my LPM and my jaw dropped at the 270mW peak

And it's an awesome beam, nice and tight
