Hey Everyone!

I have done a little research, but I am relatively new to high powered lasers so I would like a little help from more experienced people. I would like to buy a 100mw green laser but I am not sure the best place to find one. I came very close to buying this laser but stopped myself after hearing bad reviews from o-like.

Power Rock Green laser Torch 100mW /Focusable&Waterproof [OL-PRGL100] - $72.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

That being said, I would love any recommendations for any lasers that are similar to the Power Rock 100mw from O-Like and around the same price. My price range is probably up to $100 cause I am a broke college student.

Thanks a bunch!

Buy one from one of the guys on these forums! They have great lasers and really cheap. You shouldn't have to pay $72 for a 100mw green.

Thanks for the replies guys! Though price is important to me, I am more interested in the quality of the laser. So I am not necessarily looking for the cheapest 100mw laser, but more of a high quality and reliable laser around $100 if possible.

here's something to consider.

532nm lasers emit IR light unless equipped with an IR filter.

532nm lasers equipped with IR filters tend to cost more.

IR light will pass right through regular orange safety glasses.

glasses blocking both 532nm light and IR light cost more than glasses blocking just 532nm

In summary:

expensive laser allows cheaper glasses

cheap laser calls for expensive glasses.

getting a 520nm will eliminate this problem

In all honesty, you said you wanted something powerful then you should be going for 400mw+ AT LEAST. Or you can easily make you own. I have made a 1.5w for around $100 that works outstandingly. If you want to buy one then pm jayrob or DTR they sell the best one IMO.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks man I really appreciate that! I was completely unaware cheaper lasers required better safety glasses

probably decent, the output is checked. probably not IR filtered though. I guess the IR blocking glasses are only $18 more. another negative thing about NON-IR filtered lasers is that the IR will contribute to the mW output, without contributing to brightness. so you could have 100mW total, but only 65mW of 532nm. IDK, the percentages vary

Hi, I also am new to the world of high powered lasers. I have purchased my first laser here: Nether Series Adjustable Focus Green Laser Pointer with Safety Key True 150mw(LPS168)

Although I have not received it in the mail I am confident that it will be of good quality. I got the advice from this guy on youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/user/lazerphase

I hope this helps you come to a decision because I was like you and didn't know what to buy. My next laser will be a DIY laser!! Laserphase has some GREAT how to videos for the beginner and novice!!

100mw is enough. I have a 100mw, 200mw and 400mw and the difference isnt worthwhile. None of them have very visible beams in lighted conditions and all of them are very bright and visible beams at night. The only noticeable difference is the 200mw and 400mw are more dangerous.

This was my first laser and is still one of my favorites. http://www.warnlaser.com/Laser_pointer/100mw-350mw-morphling-series-green-laser I have the 100mw

I don't think that IR is that much influential. Green light can also burn your retina.

520nm is a bit pricey... but a good option indeed!

If I were you, I'd go with laserbtb, or gamble on feebay. Or have a custom build by a forum member.

@upaa27
The OP wants a green laser...
