With all the hype with the 520nm laser diodes recently, not much attention has been given on the other side of 532nm... so here's a quick shot I took of 543.5nm :p Makes 532nm really look emerald green, it's also a lot brighter than 532nm

Taken with: Coherent HeNe 31-2772-000 543.5nm 3.84mW, WL Core 5mW, iPhone 5

It's a wavelength unique to Helium-Neon lasers, a type of gas laser

Ya know, I can only speculate the spot on the left is from the HeNe. Too perfect for DPSS ;)

Though I'd imagine the color isn't too different from 532nm...

I can tell only a very slight color difference on my 6500K computer screen.

Very slight difference here as well. Do you figure the difference from 532nm is bigger to 543.5nm than it is to 520nm?

I'll agree it's not a great picture, the one on the left is 543.5nm and the one on the right is 532nm. Zraffleticket is correct though, the left dot is way too perfect for DPSS :p

Unfortunately I don't have a 520nm, it's on my list though. The difference is clear in person, but only if you have both next to each other. By itself the 543.5nm looks green, but has a *distinct* yellow mix when placed next to the 532nm (and also quite a bit brighter per mW), perhaps more yellow than green when compared to 532nm. Hopefully I can get a 520nm soon and do a three-way comparison :D

It's hard to capture lasers with cameras properly. I can see a very clear difference between my blue lasers but they look the same on most pictures.

Get one, you won't regret it. It's a very cool color ;)
