Hi guys,

Just got my 50mw Transformable Green Laser from o-like today. However i'm not really sure if it's on spec, its much brighter than my DX 5mw, but it can't burn anything and i can hardly feel the heat on my skin. I looked around at other reviews of the same laser, and people are saying that it can burn black things and it stings skin.

Are their lasers just over spec? Or is my laser under spec?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks :yh:

50mW for burning is like drag-racing with a moped. It can be done, but it is not very impressive.

Mine is about 40mW, but it makes up for it by having three lines at 532, 537, and 542.

At 50mW you really can't expect to burn anything. Only way is if you use additional optics (such as a jeweler's loupe) to focus the beam even more.

Three lines, cool. Are they much different to plain old 532, and do all these lasers have multiple lines or just yours. If they all do I really have to get one ;).

Hi,

I had a 100mw green from best offer buy. I unfortunately was never able to burn anything with that ether!. the thing died on my a while back.(I think the button connection was bad)

the lowest working laser I own that burns is my 200mw red(O-like). thats the minimum power i'd go for if I were looking for a decent burner.

I haven't tried 405nm yet, but so far for burning nothing beats 445nm IMO.

I'll order the 400mW 405nm from o-like in the next month or so. Comparing to 200mW transformable, and the 250mW 650nm Cutie... the 445's I have (1.2W and 1.5W) are amazing for burning.

Note - I'm still waiting on an LPM to confirm actual outputs on my lasers.
