im new to lasers and a friend of mine bought me a green laser from his trip to hong kong. on the warning sticker it says <50mW and class IIIB, however i dont think it is 50mW.
it seems very bright and i can see the beam fairly well at night. however i cant pop balloons, so im doubting that it is 50mW. being from hong kong im curious if its as strong as it saysis there a way for me to check the wattage?
also, it takes 1 aaa battery. and i have noticed it eats through regular 1.5v alkalines quite quickly. im thinking of buying some rechargeable ones, so what sort of batteries would be best and would it be safe to use higher voltage batteries?
edit: i ended up popping a balloon, but with the aid of a magnifying glass. would this mean that it actually is 50mW?
i also looked at some rechargeable batteries today, nimhs are only 1.2v would that matter?
