What do you guys think about the DX modules vs. the o-like ones? The DX's are certainly cheaper, but is it worth it?

So do these need to be IR filtered to be safe? Or do i need to get IR blocking goggles in addition to my 532 goggles?

No, the IR output is usually small compared to the 532 output, so your 532 goggles should do the job. Also, the IR stays near the main beam, so it shouldn't cause any problem (unless you point the beam near anyone's eye, which you should never do, because they could be getting some IR and not even know it).
By the way, you can get a small IR filter and add it to the module yourself, if you want to.
