Hi. Welcome to the forum.

Probably "500mW-808nm-LD pumped DPSS green laser".
I think 100mW green.....

A class 4 532nm laser for under $500. It can't be. It might have a 500mw ir diode, that gets reduced to around 100-200mw like stated before.

I think someone has unintentionally added an extra "0" to the specs. Sure its a typo. If it were real we'll be in front of a ~3W IR diode, and not about $40 even just the diode, And what about the optics needed to make such a divergence with a multimode diode? No, it's not possible. And what about heatsinking a 3W diode? Not possible again.

No way, I don't even think it's possible to manufacture the laser at this price.

I agree that it's not true, but I doubt it was a typo. Manufacturers like this make false claims all the time. And diodes like that are expensive, but they probably buy them for less in bulk or make the diodes themselves, so it wouldn't be quite as much as we pay for them.

Note that most resellers will list the laser by the manufacturer's specifications.
It is required that all laser devices in the market are labeled with the maximum power rating among other things.
Notice that the sticker designates <500mW. This means less than.

I have received nearly 10 pMs about the 500mw laser, Now I'll tell you the truth.

The factory tell us it is 500mw, but I'm afraid it is no more than 200mw or even less than 100mw in reality. You know nearly all chinese companies don't have a LPM, neither do we. But I have ordered LPM from canada, it's on the way.

If you are interested in it, I will tell you the real output after I test it.
Please don't order it now, for I can't make sure it's output, and can't assure you you can get your full refund because of under power.

You can read my another thread, Sorry to all
, then you will know it must be terribly under power. You'd better know about a company as much as possible before you open your pocket.

Thanks !

reliable John

Thanks,
I think all of us would like to know the real output.

Waiting for your test man

Good catch there... I see this happening all the time, yet the company can claim they aren't at fault because the laser was technically "<" whatever.

Why am I suddenly reminded of cell phone companies saying "up to" on their bandwidth claims? :D

Well, John will get back with the tested output at some point.
I am willing to wait for the LPM to arrive and get set up. :)

It will be quite a lot of work to go through all article numbers and document the process on the website, not done in one day. :)

An AAA can deliver up to 1W.
Getting two of them to deliver 200mW plus driver loss should not be a problem.
Whether one can get a 200mW 405nm diode plus pen for $35 is more of a question.
