Bumping this to thank EVERYBODY that contributed, today I received a package with the lasers (#2 option). They are really bright (much brighter than my old DX 30). Two of them operate in TEM01 for the first three seconds but it stabilizes very quickly. One thing I noticed is that the acrylic lens on one of them started to "melt"? after about one minute and a half of constant operation. I let it cool off and it worked fine again. As we all know, these babies are very susceptible to temperature, but the heatsinking is really good, they are REALLY good looking, VERY easy to take apart completely as members reported and has a very good divergence compared to the newwish DX 30.

Thank you all for your input.

If you want/need me to I'll post some pics and make a little review.

Oh, and robjdixon, if it's not too much to ask, could you take the side by side picture of the modules you offered before? Now that I have the hosts I understand the heatsinking piece that had to be drilled and I think it could easily accomodate suzie's module.

EDIT: Maybe I'm rushing things as I don't really know if the 100mW sandstone modules can run off of a single CR123 battery.

Thanks again!

Ill do it soon.

The "melting" effect is the ar coating I think. I'm not sure if that is a big problem though.

I will wait for you.

[tt]If it takes forever I will wait for you
For a thousand summers I will wait for you
Till you're back beside me, till I'm holding you
Till I hear you sigh here in my arms

Anywhere you wander, anywhere you go
Every day remember how I love you so
In your heart believe what in my heart I know
That forevermore I'll wait for you

The clock will tick away the hours one by one
Then the time will come when all the waiting's done
The time when you return and find me here and run
Straight to my waiting arms

If it takes forever I will wait for you
For a thousand summers I will wait for you
Till you're here beside me, till I'm touching you
And forevermore sharing your love

Till you're here beside me, till I'm touching you
And forevermore I will wait for you..[/tt]

Hey Niko, I metered mines ( with old bats and a dirty lens, and USED a lot ) It started at 22mW and then went up to 31mW where it stayed for a while then dropped down to 25mW and sat there for 5 minutes. I reckon I could get 40mW with fresh bats :)

Cool! Thanks a lot for the readings, mine (8) also seem to output more than the newwish DX 30.

Hey styroawesome, I was bumping the request for some pictures of the DX module Vs. the O-Like module.

The DX hosts do not use the same module that O-Like sells, they have a different size when reaching the lens, this is why I needed the comparison shot :)

No problem for the big pic, I use OPERA. :D

(Thanks a lot man anyway!)

THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Great comparison... good to know it's just a little bit larger :)

Does anybody know if it's case positive? If you drop it in a Romisen host will you need to invert the polarization?

All green modules are case positive so the battery should be the same way round

DUDE , ALL THOSE CHEAP GREEN LASERS FROM CHINA ARE A BIG WASTE OF MONEY ! ALL USE PRETTY MUCH THE SAME MODULE -ALL JUNK ! YOU MIGHT GET A GOOD ONE IN 20 OR SO , BUT IT WON'T LAST LONG . SAVE YOUR MONEY TILL YOU CAN SPEND AT LEAST $130 OR SO . TRY OPTOTRONICS -NO DISSAPOINTMENTS !
