Another thing, I got a 50mW from Ledshoppe which was defective. They have resent a new laser to me at no extra charge.

Great news as I have a Led Shoppe 50 on the way. Did they have to receive your defective one before they sent you another? I'm on my 14th day and still waiting for my 1st one to arrive. If mine is defective, I don't want to wait this long or even longer for a replacement.

Yes, you must send the defective back. However, in my case I did not bother to send it back as the price was so low (yes...lazy hehe). So I opened it instead (i like to open things....) and actually found that there was a missing capacitor on the pcb. So I sent LS a email about this in case this was a one-time-defect or a product-range error, so they could make sure that the stocked units they have did not have this missing component. I never expected to get a new one in return. But their excellent customer service actually sent me one for free without me even asking for one. That is so cool.

If your is defective, you must send it back. They will refund the money you spend on postage if returning it.

Yep, their support is superduper. Did a test yesterday, and the dot from about 3000 feet is about 5-8 feet in diameter. Even when the focus is all the way turned in, the dot is that large at such a distance. Not too cool, but i did not expect it to be smaller either - hehe.

PS! I ordered one small battery in addition to the normal one (the small one makes your torch be about 1,5 inch shorter so you can use the small battery. But the amps on this batt is less than one the long one). The voltage is the same, though. So I guess the brightness will not be better with the large battery compared to the small one with fully charged batts.

--> add some new pics (it is MUCH more impressive in reality)

Anybody who is thinking about buying this laser, should get one! I´ve noticed none cons at all. I have my laser nearly for 3 weeks and use it every day/~1h and the batterie is still working without loading it a single time after I got it. I haven´t thought that there would be such a big difference between a 30mW and a 200mW pointer!

same as you. I fired the 200mW O-like and it lights matches quite well. The focus isn't great for doing this but I can get 5ft. When the beam is focussed down to a point it burns even light coloured materials. - pretty similar to my blu-rays ability just doesn't burn as fast. It instantly smokes anything black or dark coloured. EXTREMELY GOOD BEAM ON THIS POINTER! PERIOD>

I would like to ask, what is the duty cycle on the adjustable/transformable? I have one coming and I would just like to know. Also, does anyone else have them besides him, I want to know if they are pretty much always up-to-spec.

@rob: can you see the beam in daylight with your ? Also -- that focusable "feature" makes really no sense to use. All I can do with it, is to make it more out-of-focus. If I screw the focus all the way in, i get a nice dot. But by turning it outwards, the dot gets more and more out of focus...and I can't really seem to undertand what the heck we need that for :)

well the bigger u get the dot the closer the focus point of the laser, and the closer the focus point of the laser is too you (hair thin) THAT IS THE SWEET SPOT FOR BURNING!!!
