i have had it with them and I don't want them to have my money. First they screw up my other order by sending the wrong product and now they send me this piece of crap that is no better than one of their $40 "200mW" pen lasers.

Yup, i have found focalprice to be useless to, well for lasers that is. Everything else is ok, like if you want a keychain

That Optotronics RPL looks great, but for $1078 is a no from me.
I think CNI will beat o-like somewhat :D but we will just have to wait and see!

Thanks for taking the time to do this btw :D

Hopefully your CNI isn't one of those unlucky DOA units...
Knock on wood...

Good job on the review so far. :)

Thanks, I can't wait to get the rest of the lasers to finish this review and get some shots of 4 high powered lasers together. Maybe shine them all on the spot and see if I can get things to catch flame.

Well I still don't have the end caps for the 5 lasers I ordered from O-like. This is kind of frustrating having these lasers without any way of using them. So far there is more than a 4 day delay between the packages which SUCKS.

That does suck, but I guess that'll be part of the review also. Not only laser quality, but customer service.

Yeah I am really not happy at this point. I got 4 of their waterproof focusable reds and 1 big green on Tuesday. The mail man just came today and still no tail caps or drivers for another project I was planning on completing this weekend. This completely through off my weekend. On a plus side I have tested all of the lasers to be performing up to or above spec. The green is 300mW and the reds are all 200-220mW.

Yea I saw those waterproof red's on their site. I asked them if they sell those focusable waterproof hosts separately, but they never got back to me on that part.

I'm going through the exact reverse. I have my end cap battery and charger but no laser as of yet...lol

Not good considering I payed on the 7th but I guess it will get here when it gets here.

I know I'm sure looking forward to it :)

That's weird! which one did you get a tracking for? That is a long time. I ordered on the 15th. Hopefully your stuff didn't get customized!

Do IR filters block any of the 532nm light? or doesn't it reduce the lasers output?

just wondering how much increase you'd get from removing it, assuming it does.

Haha, yes I just asked a noob question. I really am a noob when it comes to anything other than red and blu-ray handhelds.

yes IR filters do block green light. It all depends on the specific IR filter. Some are more efficient than others. Meaning some will block out minimal green light while others will block out a lot of green light. I think it is somewhere along the lines of 3-5% green loss with a good IR filter but I could be wrong about this.
