200mw green laser module from O-Like

Could someone that has purchased the 200mw green laser module from o-like put a performance test of it's beam shots and divergance as well as it's ability to burn anything on this site on the multi-media section please! I want to get one ASAP but have to save up to get it right now but would love to see it in action! Also please decribe what battery combination works best to get maximum power out of it because I want to use it for a burner in a "gaming light gun". THANKS!!!!!

Can you explain what a "gaming light gun" is?

Maybe its one of those pistols you use to shoot the screen or something

What I planned to put the 200mw green laser module in is a pistol that is used in video games to shoot targets in the game...they use weak I.R. laser diodes already, powered through a cable that hooks up to the game console. What I am doing is cutting the cable off the light gun and installing batteries inside of it 2AA, 2AAA, or a 9volt depending on what kind of laser diode you plan to use and power level you plan on operating the diode. In my case I use it for a burner, set to a high current setting for short pulses to aim and pop balloons and light matches real fast but not for long periods of time as a pointer is used. The one I am using is a MAD CATZ model and looks very much like a STAR TREK phaser but better! These make great laser host for this application as they all have triggers battery space inside to make it portable and some may even have enough room inside for a sound card and mini speaker for special effect sounds.

Well. If you install a 200mW green laser module in there, you want to be really careful not to blind yourself. You want to make sure you don't point it at the TV or any glass surfaces around your house without safety goggles on (of course).

For your purpose (lighting matches, balloons, etc...) you could get the 120-150mW for $101:

If you got one of those modules, you could pump it with up to 4.2v of power, but without a heat-sink, I would definitely limit the duty cycle to very short bursts. They get hot after a few minutes of constant use.
I would go with a 3.7v (max 4.2v) cr123 or 18650 battery for your power source.

if your using it to pop baloons and light stuff thats awesome. but i highly doubt it good for your tv to shoot a laser of that power at it

I am NOT going to use it to aim at the T.V. it is just a good portable laser host that looks realy great.

I think USPS lost my two o-like green modules :-(. They have been at a sort station for over 10 days with no further scans.
