hi

i had an infiniti 95 and i want to step up to a new ~200mW green laser (200mW of 532nm light).
my budget is <=300$.

i searched in the forum and the best lasers i found are:
-Rayfoss 200mW Focusable Laser Torch ( Rayfoss )
150$
-Rayfoss 250mW(IR Filtered) Green Laser Torch ( Rayfoss )
295$

i would know which laser is better for his price and if there are other 200mW lasers for about that price.

thanks in advice :)

The 250mW IR filtered from Rayfoss would definitely put out much closer to 200mW and most likely near 300mW than the first one, hence the $150 price gap.

Hmm well you could get a 150mW pen greenie from one of Glenns CNI group buys, and get a quality pen for <$300 and they do about 200mW if i remember correct :) i LOVE my CNI pen!!!

i asked some questions to rayfoss about the Rayfoss 200mW Focusable Laser Torch.
Faona said the power ratio is around 45-55mw IR light and 140-150mW around Pure green light.

i don't understand if that means the laser is too dangerous...
some say yes because the eyes don't really realize of how much powerful is the light.
some say not because the ir light isn't so bad collimated (only 0.1-0.5mRad more than the green light).

what's your opinion about this?

Well are you going to be up close to the laser dot? (looking direct at the beam/dot up close (3 feet) ???

Don't worry my friend, it WILL be worth the wait!!!
p.s. go to wallmart and get a pack of the Green energiser e4 rechargible AAA batteries... they make my CNI pen burn for soooo much longer! and a 2 pack is only $4!!!

(sorry for thread jack) :D

the laser should be as dangerous as powerful.
the ir light isn't more dangerous than the green light, right?

thanks for the info ;)
