Hello people.
Since this is my first post, i'll introduce myselve.
My name is Rob, im 18 years old and i live in Holland.

Well now thats done, here it comes.
I have have a BG50 and a DX200 at my possesion now, and i love the greenie ;).
So now im looking for a better one, my eyes have fallen on the 200mW Greenie from Focalprice.
*Sigh* I can't post the link, so i hope you know what one i mean.
its $91,73.
Does anybody have experience with this pointer yet?
Is it really 200mW and is the quality any good?

I hope to hear anything soon.
Greetings!

search for "Focalprice 200mW" and you'll find a review I posted awhile back, they're nowhere near 200mW output (or at least mine wasn't) however they're not such a bad little pointer, it will light sharpied matched easily (or dark-colored ones if you're patient), ballons, tape, etc, plus they really put out a nice beam (when I bought mine a few months back they were around $74 so hopefully the increase in price reflects them utilizing better quality control when purchasing them for resale).

Hope that helps...

Sorry - didn't notice you were new to the forum - Welcome! ;D

As an apology for my lack of etiquette, here is the link to the review:

http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1232386763

Once you learn a bit about the forum, you will find that using the "search" function really comes in handy, most of the Vendors out there have had their products reviewed here, so with a little research, you should have no troubles finding almost anything you need!

Again, Welcome to LPF!

Just take heed of their quote in the ad:

"Remark: The outpout power is offered by supplier, not the standard data after testing"

Generally, you can expect most low-buck Chinese lasers to be in the neighborhood of 40% under spec (John Lawson did a group test of greenies, also in the "reviews" thread, I believe and they all averaged just over or under 60% of their claimed power) ...

NOW - onto another plan, Jayrob sells a green host "kit" that's an easy, 2-minute assembly, requires no soldering, and uses the O-like green modules that are regularly shipped at or in most cases above spec, the total cost for the module and host kit ends up being around $150, but you would be getting a definitive 120-150mW with it (I've seen the chinese pinters be as low as 70-80mW with "200mW" claims), plus you would have the satisfaction of having assembled it yourself.

Hit the "Buy Sell Trade" thread and look for the Green Kits by Jayrob - his work is highly regarded and the post also has the link to the modules, which are available anywhere from 50-150mW through O-like (Susie).

LASTLY - as a rule, the focusable Chinese greens aren't quite like a focusable red or Bluray, the beam can generally be focused "out" or wider if you like, but not "down" or smaller for burning - kinda deceptive really but hey, look at Vietnam and/or Korea in your history books and decide for yourself as to how reputable many Chinese suppliers are! (No offense to the many GOOD ones out there, I just really, REALLY have a problem with FocalPrice and their Customer Service) ;)

That laser is not going to be near 200mW. I have heard some very bad reviews of Focalprice so I would stay away from them.

There has been a good review posted on a laser from Focalprice now.
I might try it in a while, after somebody made a review on exactly the same laser.
