Both are good. I'd go for NOVA in this case since the host is better.
You won't see any difference on brightness even if the lasers are 10 or 20mW away from each other, members from this forum have concluded that you need 4 times the power of a green laser to see double the brightness.

Both are gonna appear the same brightness wise pretty much. You cant go wrong with eithr laser. Id go with the optotronics though, because you will save money and you are gonna get an awesome laser

As a current owner of an opto 150mw and prior 120mW nova user. I recommend the opto. I believe it has better divergence than my old nova, and both cases are subject to opinion. The cni that nova sells does have a pretty case, but I still love the look of my opto.

Opto host looks so sux, as the cheap lasers from ebay :p I'm in distance with that look-like lasers, but as many people says Opto is great so I can be sure it is ;)

Anyway, my nova x105 is quite good, and divergence of about < 1mRad (I can touch clouds with this laser)

They will be the same brightness, but if you can afford the extra money go for the Nova. I'm not saying Optotronics is bad, because both lasers will be good, but after handling many NewWish and CNI pens I prefer the CNI units (Nova X-series) because of the beam quality and stability. I very rarely come across a NewWish unit that doesn't have a somewhat dirty beam from crap on the internal optics that are most likely fingerprints. The CNI will also have a smaller initial beam diameter which is better for burning. Don't get me wrong though, the Optotronics 150 is still a good choice, I just am somewhat picky.

I saw that the beam diameter of 150 mw Optotronic is 1,5 and the diameter of 150 Nova X series is 1......so dear fellows do you think that this make the difference....
For example I want to play with a pointer laser in fog and if I have optotronic in a hand and nova in other hand ....the peoples could make the differences and could agree that one of it is better or both could be the same ....
This little thing about diameter could be a plus for optotronic?
Or both appear great and the same ?
Thank you for all replyes.

i can only say....that BOTH LASER have the same power...... BUT....nova cost double! 400 dollars instead 200 of opto. even if nova could have some best initial beam diameter.. etcc... it is the cheapest 150mw.... you could buy 2 opto VS 1 nova... one for every hand:p :p

PS: i wululd thata all company reallign the price with optotronics............we need 150mw+ for max 200 dollars.......... not 350...400!!!it is too expensive!!!

Ok could you tell me if at Optotronic 150 Premium could be something in that silver cap or is just about the design.....
The ideea is that I need the module from the inside for a private project ....So do you know if just inside the silver cap end could be something ..I mean a lens or other thing?
or if you take apart the silver cap you will find it empty and could take out the module from the inside the rest of the tube.
Thank you

So your saying whichever laser you buy, its getting torn apart so you can use the module inside for a project?

Contrary to what people say, I love the look of the opto. And yes I know that its played out because that design is everywhere. But its a great design and I sure thats why its so commonly used. I know that my opto feels superior to any other pen unit I have had, and Ive had quite a few. For half the price you cannot match the quality of laser.

Sometimes Ill literally sit there, and try to look for power fluctuations in the beam and it just doesn't happen. It steadily outputs a constant power of over 150mW. Even tho I love CNI and hope to pick up two more from them ( 473nm & 593.5nm ) my last experience resulted in a $300 mode hopping 120mw.

Oh... I didn't consider the price... Get the Opto then. If you need a module then just buy one from o-like.com

Agreed.

BTW this is as off topic as it gets, but I must say I love the pics you post all over the forum, especially the ones in the LPF religion thread. I was literally cracking up.
