1000m 50mW laser reflection experience? Need help from the PRO's

Hi, I am new here :] Anyways, i came up with an idea (Probably you laser addicts allready tought about it ^^) So, i ordered an 50mW 532nm laser from
O-like(still being shipped), and when i look at my window, i see a mountain at Aprox.1000m (SI) or 0.6 miles, and i thought about placing a mirror with a 30º angle inclination in order to shoot the beam directly up (i made a quick draw)

Of corse, i would need binoculars to point it directly to the mirror, and probably nightvision binoculars, becouse i can only see the beam at night...ohh. and a bipod to keep it firm, at 1km a litle handshake would keep the beam way too far from the mirror.

So, i'm sorry if i said severeal things that doesnt make sense, or aren't perfectly correct, but thats why i'm here annyways :)

A litle help from the PRO's would be appretiated

1 thing i can give you as advise lol you will need a HUGE optic mirror
1000 meters and a laser with a beam divergence of 1.0 1.5 mRad will end up with a HUGE dot
Optic mirror is needed because a normal bathroom mirror will split the beam in 3 (if i am right ) well atleast in 2 beams.
+ you won't see the beam going up , maybe is a verry foggy day

but i like your idea lol

:cryyy: Oki, Thank you for your knowledge. Oh.. and when i get my laser, is there a way to test if it is a legit 50mW? i asked Susie(From O-like), she told me yes, but anyways, i would like to confirm it.

50mW is legit indoor use , not in public.
Your project will work with a beam expander but still 50mW is not strong.
Just green laserpointers have a kinda large beam divergence and will have a big dot after 100 meters let stand a 1000 , use a big mirror and on a foggy day it might work :)

:D please be especific about the "big mirror" xD, do you mean like a 4mSquare or like a 400mSquare ? also where can i get a beam expander, and what is the beam divergence at 100m aprox., so i can do the maths ^^

Lol at my quick home made (uni-pod)?

Actually it is quite adjustable, tough it doesnt look like it

hehe tips are those all trees lol i suggest to go to the woods with a ladder and hang a mirror in the trees :D

That was my first toughts too xD, i'm gonna try it as soon as i get the laser, and hey,at short distances can the mirrors be relatively small? like 16cmSquare ?
