Hi, I have a photonic disruptor pro it uses AA batteries, as you know the alkaline ones are 1.5v I have some ni hm but these are 1.2v I already tried them a little bit and yes the laser works, but, will the laser work different because of those 0.3v missing? it would be less powerful of could that even damage the diode? thank you

Never had a problem, I ALWAYS use NiMh in my lasers. (well the ones that don't plug into the wall)

using less voltage wont harm anything, however more will blow it out, keep in mine that if your laser uses 2 aa batts the total combined volts is double, 1.5+1.5=3.0v using less wont hurt, but may make your laser dimmer or less powerful depending on the laser and the batts, most rechargeable AAs are 1.4v which has almost no difference from 1.5v, but 1.2v mite, depends on the laser.

1.2 V batteries are crap for lasers. Get 1.5. You are holding your laser back.

buy energizer e2 ultimate lithiums, they last alot longer than alkalines, and are much better suited for powering a laser, however a 2 pack is almost $10 but is worth it in the long run.

The Ultimate Lithiums are some of the best disposable batteries. They last a long time and stay very powerful until they are completely dead. But, they are expensive, and you can't recharge them.
After lots of reading on these forums, I invested in a set of the Eneloops. I think this was the smartest decision I have made with my lasers. They are VERY powerful, last a long time, and the price is not too bad for rechargables. I recieved my batteries 2 weeks ago and I still haven't recharged them once, and I use my lasers a lot!!

Here is where I bought the Eneloops from, the price will fluctuate every few days. I bought them at under $10 with free shipping.
