Ok, so here's the deal...

I've done quite a few mods to my laser and they've worked out quite well...
Now...
I want to put my X105 module inside a Galileo body for a constant on clicky and more heatsinking.

So far, extraction has gone smooth... I have the top of the laser off with the module and driver intact and no cosmetic damage!

The problem is...
To remove the heatsink for the pump diode and crystal set, I need remove the top part of the case...
Sounds pretty simple, but it's press fitted or screwed in or something, and it won't budge.
I don't want to apply too much force and risk cracking the expander lens or fracturing the crystals.
The safest way to do this (that I can think of) is take a Dremel to it and cut the case off...
Which I would like to avoid if possible, because it really is a nice case and would be nice for a custom build bluray or something.

So the question is:
Sacrifice the case to get it off and have a more efficient X105/Galileo...
Or Keep it how it is.

(Galileo on the left and X105 on the right... ignore the maglite, it's just there for size comparison)

Here are some Pictures...
Sorry for the sh+t quality all I have right now is a camera phone...
I'll get better pictures of my dissection later....

I know of very tiny clicky witches, like this one (googled)
images

mine looks different, but it might be doable. (vertical mounting required)

No new body required

Yes, but I want to put it in the Galileo body because it's just all around better... I just don't know if cutting into the CNI case is worth it...
