Hello guys,

I would first like to thank LPF user Alaskan for sending me this LPM as a gift, it was very kind of him & felt he deserved a shout out for this(+ rep incoming to you) :)

Edit: This LPM dosen't seem to register lowered powered lasers since I couldn't get any reading from it with my PGL's.

Now, why would I want to buy another LPM? Well, even though the one bought by Alaskan is great, Im not a big fan of older model lasers/LPM's as some of you may have noticed. I recently got some Graduation money and instead of buying another laser decided an LPM might be a good way to spend those funds. I took a look around laserbee & saw some good models for around $150 which isn't too bad, it seems to fit what I need:

Advice?

PS: As a way to thank Alaskan for his gift I will send the current LPM I own to anyone who needs one free of charge, I'll even pay for shipping(as Alaskan did to me).

Wow, that's very generous of both of you! How exactly are you going to organize this though, because it sounds like r@ffle to me. Or are you just going to give it to someone who's nice? (I'm kind of interested myself, so that's why :p)

Hey doubleone,

Well it's pretty much first come, first serve. I don't feel it would be right to charge a member for an LPM that was sent to me for free so that's why im doing this :)

You said you want one for lower power. do not get a laserbee. Not that they are bad, I love mine, but they are definitely not for lower powers either. at least not the laserbee a for sure. Mine wouldn't read any of my lower power lasers. Ended up getting a coherent lasercheck for under 10mw lasers.

Alright, thanks for the heads up! I was going to get a radiant X4 but they haven't been available for awhile.

I'm also debating wether I should spend my funds on a 510nm PGL from CNI. Any thoughts?

That would be up to you. Could always switch it up and move away from the green spectrum or just finish it off. I assume you will be buying them all over time anyway so it doesnt really matter which path. Also keep an eye on ebay for a lasercheck to pop up. I've seen a couple over the past 2 weeks one of which I snagged for a nice $120 which seems about the average going rate. Maybe a bit more. Mine and the other were $120 though.

I also don't think radiant reads lower either. I don't think any thermal based head will unless correct me if I'm wrong someone. I don't believe under 10mw generate enough heat for accurate readings.

Yeah, my plan was to finish off the green spectrum. CNI only remaining wavelengths in a PGL for the green spectrum are 510 & 561 so I'm almost done. It's crazy how yellowish-green 532 looks next to 520 haha :p

I'll keep a look on eBay and the B/S/T to see if anything comes up :)

Doesn't have to be a lasercheck either. I just think they are small and convenient. Any LPM that uses a photodiode sensor should do i'd assume. Although I'm not 100% sure. Definitely not an expert. Seeing as you have/had one with a photodiode sensor, but maybe because it was older? Someone else could definitely help you better on the subject.

Hi Alex,
Nospin I think still sells them. They meter to 5W Ophir thermopile red or blue led read out for a choice to the glasses your using. I have one it's awesome and it's 5W's capability is outstanding. Mine meter over 5W so if you have the cash there it is
