I got one when they were $100 on woot a while back, I actually use it quite a bit. The image is very good but the laser speckle can be a bit annoying when using it with a computer

So they are commercially available now? I have to find one! dUH, a simple google search... Sorry guys, I saw the video and assumed they were still in design phase.

I did *** mirror-removal mod that Holokid suggested, and I get a fairly decent pure white output beam (which ** course isn't pure white, but ra***r RGB combined).

EDIT: Fixing the asterix glitch:

There was a cell phone released about a year ago that had a built in projector.

Though with this using lasers, the resolution is going to be much , much better

I bought one to tear apart for the diodes.

It works so well, that I couldn't bring myself to destroy it.

I picked up an adapter for my old iPod.

It is a "personal" movie projector now :)

Peace,

At 5 feet you can start to see the colours fringing, at 10 feet it's clear that there is a red/green/blue dot.

Considering the alignment mechanism internally (a lens glued into place) it's actually pretty good alignment.
