Im new to lasers (lasers that are not the dollar store keychain under 1mw), i knew about wicked lasers from all there fancy ads and bought a core from ebay. I then come to this forum from wicked lasers forum and read that they basically suck. I am from Canada so i can have whatever laser i please ;D Will the core be okay? I also ordered the true 50mw from dealextreme. I will compare the two, im guessing that the wl core will be better build quality. Was the core a bad purchase? Im young(er) so i dont have lots of money to blow on a laser.
Was it a bad purchase?

A wicked laser core is 5 mW laser isn't it? They don't suck they are just extremely overprices. A 5 mW greeny should be bought for 20-30 dollars max.

I was just saying my personal preference, so don't really listen to me. I am not too active on LPF yet as I have not actually received a laser yet. (DX shipping= forever)

The core is considered one of WL's better lasers. A 5mW green pointer from a reputable laser company will run 40-60$. There is a huge gap between the quality of a 15$ toy whose button will break in a month and a well built pointer. I personally haven't dished out more than 20$ on a finished laser so far, but that is mainly because I am planning on building my own.

Wicked lasers is incredibly overpriced for most of their offerings though.

well, the core does make a great pen host!!! the true 50mw will msot likely be un ir protected, and under spec, but hey, as long as its at least 20mws, you still got an awesome deal...lol unless the ebay guy doesnt follow through, the core wasnt a bad purchase

Yeah, I have heard that the core is one of the few good lasers from Wicked. Make sure to do a nice review /comparison for us! :D

I will, even though i cant measure specs or anything :-/ Lasers is now kinda my side hobby, its rc cars/planes/helis for me :D

If I were you I would combine the two hobbies, have RC laser devices, lase from above :D
Schvweet.

My other hobbies really cant involve lasers though...Karate and PhotoShop really have nothing to with lasers.
