This story popped up on the news feed this morning. Of course it is only a short pulse but impressive none the least. Thoughts?

I would expect the Japanese to do this, I think they are even ahead of us in some areas of technology, they are a very resourceful and innovative people. I expect they will soon develope their own lasers that can destroy missiles and aircraft.
