Am thinking into getting one of those WL krypton (mainly because of the sexy host).
Idont care that much about power & as every one knows WL lasers are allways under spec (as most forum members suggested) but am curious:

If the 1w krypton truly = about 750mW

what about the 500mW version of it ? how much power do you think it will output ? same thing goes for the 300mW version as well ?

am in between those 2 the 500mw or the 300mw.

Thx !:san:

get them from jetlasers
uy off 50% Jetlasers 100mw to 1000mw 445nm blue Laser Pointers PL-C right now. 300mw, 500mw, 800mw, 1000mw 445nm blue lasers handheld at better pricing than any 300mw, 500mw and 800mw 445nm 1w blue laser pointers.
identical host as far as i can tell
and it also has the "smartswitch"
join in on the GB if it hasnt already ended for discounts!

*plz dont support WL and their terrible business practices* (lying)

If its the same host (not like the lazerer rifle small ver.) then i agree with you.
gonna search a lil bit more about those jetlasers host.

thx for the tip bumblebee :thanks:

UPDATE: after checking both hosts Dimensions/Size... The S3 is a lil bit bigger. here is the actual# (from there sites):

WL Krypton: 257.7mm x 35.8mm
Jetlasers P-LD: 38mm x 220mm

They are probebly using the same Module for the 500mW and the and the "1W" One.

Either they are Binned different or them Just turned up the currant.

It might be 750mW of power But who knows how much of that is Ir and how much real Green you are getting..

The 300mW Version IIRC seeing someone said it was doing ~150mW.

I love the Host dont get me wrong. But until i start seeing more reviews for it with IR test result Etc. Iam not sold on any of the Krypton models.

Not that i would spend 1000$ on a laser from Wicked.

I would advice the 500mW... PM me, I may be able to offer a discount.

Is that really necessary... ;)

I'm sorry, but we're allowed to quote WL's terrible record here, it's a public privately-owned forum, and we have MORE than enough evidence to back up our claims.

IMO, investing in either the 500 or 1000 mW Krypton would be a very stupid decision.

Even if it is completely up to spec (and that's a big "if"), the price is out of proportion with the output power.

500mW is where you really see the disconnect. We have a lot of forum members who have secured green 532s in the 400mW+ range for around or under $200. To instead shell out $500 for a 500mW, even if it ended up being bang-on the 500mW claim, would be a crazy move. Would you really pay 250% the price, for 25% more power? Plus, what do you bet that the 500mW won't *quite* hit 500mW, and will end up metering bang-on with what others are getting out of their $149 FireDragons?

EDIT: Here's my read of what is happening in China:

- Some DPSS module manufacturer has come up with a 532nm module that can hit *somewhere near* 1,000 mW.
- Now we're seeing WarnLaser, RayFoss, DinoDirect, WickedLasers, and surely a few other laser retailers offering these modules in their own hosts, with their own branding.
- They all have their own hosts, and their own pricing, but at the end of the day they're using the exact same generically made cheap 1,000 mW DPSS module.

Now there's nothing wrong with that ^. And truth be told, the WL price is lower than WarnLaser, RayFoss, or DinoDirect. But I think the prices on these high-power DPSS modules are going to continue falling. The price of really high powered 808nm C, B, and F mount laser diodes certainly has been.

There is allot of experience talking here, please take it! I do however own an arctic myself, and yes the host is pretty cool I'll admit. But after being jerked around for 6 months waiting on delivery, and getting an under powered laser. It's just not worth the money, or the gamble. :tired:

I really can't wait to see someone actually take one of these apart. If these kraptons are using the same module as the much cheaper lasers out there, I'm going to have a good laugh.

Paid $236 for an o-like... peaks at 556mW, with about 40mW of IR:)

Hmm... If more reviews comeup & showed that the 300mW Ver. will output 150mw-200mw (without IR). would you pay the 300$ to get it ? :S

Thx for the great Advice rhd, i really understand what your saying. like i said before am not interested in power more than interested in those host it self. I have read more than 30 posts (Old posts since the arctic was released) & all of them saying they are terrible late shipping, underspec...etc. but the way i see it is am paying about 300$-500$ to get a decent in poweer green laser with an Awesome host. with a 300$ i can get about 400mw-500mw (maybe overspeced too) laser but with a normal host :(.

If any one has any advices or comments... help & tips are much appreciated :)
