Hello, very new here and with much more enthusiasm & interest than experience. I am about to buy brand new 2 Wicked E3's: 50mW 532nm & 5mW 405nm. These are not the mW I'm interested in. Are there any veterans out there with credibility, interest, and ability to retrofit these hosts to full working condition using a >200mW 532nm diode and compatable driver and the 2nd one with a <200mW 445nm or 589nm diode and compatable driver. I will pay cost of materials and the added charge of labor. If your interested in lowering labor cost for keeping the stock diode & drivers that can be negotiated. If not then just return the parts with the rebuild. Kindly let me know if interested, otherwise I'm not going to buy the aformentioned lasers. Thanks, I check email more often than anything else: Matt, mjjd1958@gmail.com

532nm lasers are not (commonly)diode driven the same as a 445nm laser. Unless you spend thousands a 532nm laser is what you call a DPSS system that uses an 808nm IR diode to pump a crystal that increases the wavelength to 1064nm and then through another crystal that doubles the frequency to 532nm. This system is usually found in the form of a module with everything contained in one unit (IR diode, driver, crystals, lenses). A well priced and reputable retailer of such modules is Lazerer.com. 589nm lasers are another DPSS system but those are very rare, very expensive and extremely low output.

The amount of work involved for such a rebuild would likely cost more than just outright buying a new higher powered laser. If you desire these outputs but cannot find retail versions you like I would suggest having them commissioned to be built from scratch as it would likely be reasonably cheaper than a rebuild project.

i retrofitted a 200mW 532nm module into dead 650nm WL E3 once.

There is your key, dead E3. Its slightly silly to buy a new functioning one just to gut it IMO :p
