Will solar eclipse glasses work with lasers?

I waited in line for almost two hours to buy a pair of $2.00 solar eclipse glasses to view the eclipse. They allow direct viewing of the Sun for up to three straight minutes. Could they have any use for eye protection for using lasers?

I don't think you'd be able to see anything with those glasses since they block every wavelength more or less equally...

NO!!! very bad idea. Protective laser glasses are for very specific wavelengths. Your solar eclipse glasses are just sunglasses on steroids.

Ok, thanks! Just saw the eclipse, it was awesome! (the Sun is the only thing viewable through these glasses, everything else looks pitch black).

Now if this was made by bot, I say it's pretty smart one. If it was made by human, I say he's pretty stupid ..

As for OP .. idea of laser protection goggles is to be able to see at least something, but to be protected. So they block part of the spectrum, but not everything.
Goggles for Sun viewing usually block all wavelengths. They would probably protect you against lasers up to decent powers (they usually pas 1/10000 of the light) .. but you would not be able to see anything with them. So goggles which block all the light would be same as useful (or useless).
There is another risk .. laser protection goggles must sustain direct hit with focused laser for some time .. eclipse viewing goggles usually use thin plastic foil covered with thin metal layer. It is possible they would burn through very fast.
So yeah, in other words .. they can't be used. You need laser protection goggles specially selected to color and power of your laser.

Anyway, just be sure .. yes, for eclipse projection is fine. For laser it would be a bit clumsy setup. For lasers use laser protection goggles with proper protection wavelength range.
