Why would a broken WL E2 532nm emit blue beam?

Why would a broken 532nm wicked laser E2 emit a green beam? KTP dislodged? Or something else? Just curious as I saw someone on eBay selling one for $300 which is a total scam anyhow but I am curious as to why.

This would be IR coming out of the laser now correct?

I am confused, what colour is said beam coming out as? Blue or green?

I've seen a 1 808 watt emit very strange colors when it gets warm. The beam profile changes. I looked at it from a distance with a 6,000 lines per cm grating and i saw and led emission line from around 570 to red and likely IR.

But then i saw a line all by itself. This only happens when the laser gets hot like the host feels 135 degrees F. The diode shape changes and then this color appears on the wall when i hold it. If this is a laser line it will blow the 980/490nm lasers away.

My uni is busy with a physics project and they cant give me time to test it until summer. I put a IR filter that covers the laser one time and I noticed the emission line was angled. I even managed to get a picture of it. I'm just scared to post it without a spectral readout. I don't want to get you all to burn your 808nm diodes for nothing.

But yeah There's no way it's blue unless it's 404 like with the 980/490. ( the color im seeing is much brighter than that wl.) probably just a wrong listing.

Go ahead and make a topic, no point in making us curious :p We weren't sure of the 490nm line either when we started talking about it...

I seen it myself the 490 was very dim. The colors together are bright enough to see even with no lens over the diode.

Might aswell let the cat out of the bag
freak Ir laser - Album on Imgur

The laser is around one watt 808 but the crystal set came out.

Might aswell post my hidden imgur of this.

The laser host was very hot and I first seen this 2 years ago but thought nothing of it.

It emits a green line that is rather bright and I was able to get it focused with a fresnel lens once.

I took an eye level zoom picture of it.

the green on the very fringe is what im talking about. That only appears when the laser gets hot. the 808 diode even changes shapes and dims. Current drops from 2 A to 1.75 when hot it is very far about on a 6,000 per cm grating and narrow. I can see it on my wall and it surrounds the muiltimode pattern in a round shape cause the host cuts it off.

I think that's LED emission, does it spread out like an LED does when you look at it with the grating? (try this with an IR filter in front, 1W 808nm is a lot!)

The one line does.

Only the green which is much further apart and narrower can be focused like a laser.

The thing is why are these emissions getting stronger and at a lower wave length. when it gets hotter.

the 808 gets dimmer. Lasers shifft up in WL when they got hotter.

I took the lens off the 980 i got and I can clearly see the 490 at a different spot too.

Whatever it is is weird and it needs to be spectroed.

Interesting, you could send it to a vet who has a spectrometer.

My uni might have time over the summer.
His theory was that the laser is hitting a new lasing method with the energy levels being raised by heat.

He's a caltech grad and he's even mystified by this.

I gotta try and cool it and see what happens.
