Why lasers? (Justification)

Personally, I have a rather hard time coming up with "excuses" as to why I enjoy lasers so much. The justification for me is that I see it as entertainment. Dangerous fun, but fun regardless.

Part of it is having a collection of something. Part of it is being able to show friends things that you don't get to see on a daily basis... but besides that for other folks, what is it about lasers you enjoy?

When they ask you why you collect and love lasers say" even if i told you, you would not understand". Personally i cant find anything specific at them but they are surely science. Maybe its the philosophy of building and assembling a laser, setting the right current for the diode. Also, when you build something and see the result working, you become satisfied. I dont give a fuck what my friends say about my interest and i have to say most of them find it funny and use sarcasm when they ask me about them. It's something that you do on your own and you should not be affected by the poor thoughts of others.

I totally agree, and for me it's that satisfaction of having and seeing something that isn't produced naturally exactly. It's totally science, but I'm just curious to see what other people say
