What's the highest mW laser you have made ?

I noticed that someone is selling a red homemade laser that is 200 mW+ that's pretty awesome.... How high can these mag lite ones etc or others go ? whats the highest mW laser you have made ?

I've made 2 that peak around 250-260mW then settle in at 225mW or so...

Well most people make lasers out of DVD burner diodes. These diodes only go up to 250mW max, so I don't think many users have made more powerful laser.

Though I think Pseudo is making a 1 watt handheld 532nm.

Ive seen diodes on ebay up to 18 watts so yeah im pretty sure it wouldnt be hard to find one.

well in using the Gb diodes the max that were going to see is upwards of 280-290mw but the problem with that is, the lifespan of the diode is going to be GREATLY reduced by pushing these at over that. Now diodes in the 650nm range like the GB diodes that are in excess of 300mw do exist. They are extremely hard to find and are extremely expensive. Were talking in teh hundreds of dollars each. I was quoted $450 per diode on one quote. And that was for a 250mw diode. You will see other diodes that go higher but as Psuedo is great for showing out they are multi-mode diodes and are CRAP for what were doing here.

So, the information is as such. Senkats group buy diodes and the diodes we are harvesting from dvd burners range in teh 100-300mw range depending on how long you want the diode to last. You can push it harder get more power but you also get less life, or you can push it like it's supposed to get a smaller amount of power but your laser lasts you a gooood looooong time.

Believe it or not the laser you just bought from me is being overdriven and getting 130mw-170mw is ok but you wont' have a 3-4 yr laser.

With Daedal's future "phaser" diode group buy we should see some higher numbers in here. The highest power I've made was probably in the range of 200mW, but I don't like to push my diodes too far cause I don't want to fry them.
