Default What projectors are people harvesting from these days?

So, I was thinking of becoming a farmer, as it were, and picking up some cheapish projector on fleabay.

I know about the Crassio and Picko projectors. Are there any other projectors worth looking at for the intention of harvesting the diodes and maybe so optical doodads? I wouldn't want useles (to sell) or low powered diodes.

Thanks all. Be well.

Picos are really neat, I got one for 80$, full working condition and it has a SM blue, red and a 530.5nm DPSS green in it, and it's all pre aligned. Power it up and you have a tiny pre-aligned white laser.

Thanks ARG. I was thinking more along the lines of something with many diodes to part out. But, I know where to go when I want that lovely white!

Hey ARGLaser, do you have a link for those? I found something called Pico Projector but for iPhone. Is that it?

Pico Laser Projector sold for parts at ebay

Check out that thread ^^^ They are working projectors, just no battery or cables.

For many diode harvests there's four main types of diodes, A130 grade, A140, M140 grade (aka H1600) and 9mm's. The entire product line (A140, M140, M145, A130, H1600 ect.) (you can look it up on the website) has those diodes in it. The newer M140 blocks has some A140 grade diodes in them, be careful of that.
A130 and A140 are identical in power output (I think), but A130 has a higher wavelength. M140 has the highest wavelength and highest output.
Many of the newer high end projectors (of various companies) have 24-36 9mm diodes in them. Only one model (so far as I know) has the useable lens' in them. I forgot which model.

According to information given me by Hakzaw1, the A130's should be driven below 1A, whereas A140 diodes can go up to 1-1.2A.

How does one determine whether you have a newer or older block?

The entire "A" series of projectors use the same diode

You have to look at the individual diodes.
The markings on the back are different

No idea, sorry Never taken apart a projector myself, I've only used about 12 445nm diodes during my time here.

Wasn't there some tests on PL that showed the A130's had a higher wavelength than the A140's? That was a while ago though, I probably remember wrong
