What is also equal to.. So 500mw green is as visible as a 1.5watt blue or what?
Thanks can seem to find a answer anywhere just that green is brighter then blue lol

Yep, Green is the Brightest colour to the Human Eye. AFAIK, 500mw beats 1/1.5W Blue laser.

I'm going to also say green becasue I have seen around 250mw of green and 1 watt of blue and green > blue so i'm going to say green

My 800mW 532nm firmly beat my 2.5W 445nm laser in terms of brightness. Okay maybe not by a longshot, but I could easily tell it was brighter.

quinkers, I was researching the same exact thing and this is what I found, I hope it helps! Beam: (532nm 500mw) vs. (445nm 1500mw)

And just the same, research also indicated that lasers this powerful require eye protection if you don't want to lose your vision...

Best of luck in your studies...

Also depends on the distance you´re looking at them. At short distance (in a room), I would say 2W is more visible than 500mW of 532nm.

What I think of as "laser beam brightness" doesn't seem to match the CIE data very well (the tool J0SHUA linked).

When comparing my 400mW 532nm to my 2W 445nm (nominal powers), both beams seem very bright. The green beam is more noticeable or brighter but the blue one looks more intense in a way. This might be because I know it is but others have also commented on it that didn't when I was sky pointing (airplane safe!). It is much easier to read by the light scattered from the dot of the green. ;)

I guess what I am trying to say is that I do not believe you can get a very exact ratio for X power of 532nm equals Y power of 445nm because our eyes and brains are weird when it comes to color and brightness. The conditions you view the beams under end up mattering a lot. And green makes a way better flashlight. :p

edit: What is the use case? Viewing the beam or the spot? I would trust the CIE tool for the spot or viewing the beam in bright conditions.

Obviously green. Our eyes have peak sensitivity around electric green (555 nm), even though blue laser would be powerful, it would look darker because your eyes isn't sensitive to shorter wavelength (As an example - a photodiode has quantum unity of 1 at peak of 980nm IR, but cannot sense green or blue that well unless other electron donor composition is added to it, the same is somewhat true for middle IR such as body heat).
