Ok, I have been trying to find the answer to this but I failed. O please dear fellas, give me some guidance :D
An long open can diode I have seen, but can u use it just like a closed can diode? From where do you get open can diodes? Blu-rays?

You use a LOC just like any other red diode, by mounting in a module aixiz or meredith and supplying the appropriate current, the thing is that due to their long die they are capable taking around 420ma of current. With a meredith glass lens powers of 300mw are not uncommon.
