What is a good laser to start with.

Hi All i am new to the laser world. I am looking to get a little more involved and want to know a good laser to start with i have looked all over the internet but i am not sure what is a good or what is bad.

I would like a green laser that is safe to use without goggles (if there is one).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Don't go much higher than 5mw without glasses...there is a reason that is the limit many countries have adopted for "safe" lasers. And you have to ask yourself - why do you want lasers? If its just for something that looks cool, green and blue and purple are nice and unique in the general population's eyes. If you're looking towards burning for any reason, you'll need higher power and definitely glasses. Just whatever you do be careful and know your local laws before you go and get yourself in trouble!
