what DX flash L would fit 9V

There are none. Flashlights are generally considered high-draw products and 9V batteries are not.

What you could do is you could search for flashlights powered by big batteries like D-cells or something, maybe a 9V would fit in those. :-/I would search for you , but DX just has so many flashlights and the search function is not really top notch

1.21" is the width (corner to corner) of a 9V I measured while the OD of a D battery is 1.31". So with some sort of adapter, it would fit.

the other two are pain in the arss to work with because there is no space for any heat sink, and just taking the thick tight rubber jacked off is very painful.

I know where you are coming from. I took an old Maglight D-Cell type and cut it down to just fit a 9 volt battery. I customed made a heatsink out of aluminum using a metal lathe and then drilled a hole to fit the Aixiz module. I used some foam around the battery to keep it from rattling. The blu-ray diode is putting out over 130 mW's and never gets warm. Right now the module is sticking out a little but this was so I could adjust the pot on Rckstr's driver. Anyway, i had the Maglight laying around so I cannalbilized it for this project. There is lots of room in side. Also, I wired the positive conection straight to the switch and the negative goes straight to the battery. Works great and looks kind of cool. Here are a couple of pictures...

Holy Moly! I'd bet it never gets warm with that heatsink.I also imagine battery life isn't the best with a 9V battery and the driver set as ~130mA :-/
But yea, so much room and so much aluminum.You could build a triple RGV laser in that thing and still have unlimited duty cycle

Hey...that's a cool idea about putting a couple of more laser modules in there (RGB). I'll have to research that a little. Can 3 modules share the same power source or do you need a 3-way switch? The keyboard is a Saitek multi-media type, but the G-15 is sweet.

Someone here made a triple laser like that with dvd , phr diodes and a dx green module.They can use the same power source(batteries) as long as they have individual drivers,I believe.His main problem was that he didn't have a heatsink , only 3 small modules, made even smaller to fit into a MXDL so heatsinking was a big problem.I'll see if I can find the thread...WackBag said:
