somebody stole your rpl???????

A burglary. Last year. When I was moving here.

An RPL-400 and an RPL Blue-40

8 flexdrives
10 Rkcstr drivers
6 host/heatsink combos
My 2nd 8X diode
4 pistols
20 tourmaline rings
10 asst rings
10 gemstone tennis bracelets
6 cabachon pendants
~400 carats of tourmaline gemstones
Asst. amethyst and peridot gemstones
2 "sandwich" bags full of small cabachons
3oz gold
20oz silver
Luftwaffe Officer's dagger
Pageboy's sword from the coronation of King George IV
Asst other collectible blades
Birth Cert.
SSAN card
Passport
Mother's and father's death certs

No insurance coverage because I was not living here yet :(

Yeah. My credit (identity) is frozen too :yabbmad:

I disappeared for awhile

Several of the members here donated parts to get my building started again. The support and conversations with people from this list is what pulled me out of the dark.

And people wonder why I defend this place so strenuously :thanks:

Peace,

Wow, Dave that sucks.

I was robbed once, luckily it was only my motorcycle and I got it back within the week.

I read over that list, and the irreplaceable at any cost items would have pushed most people over the top.

All the insurance in the world could not replace some of those things.

Yeah. It was just local thugs. They grabbed everything in the fireproof box and anything that "looked" interesting. Luckily I didn't have my full gem trays here yet and they didn't realize how valuable all of my hand built lasers were.

I dropped off a load of boxes and then got "hung up" back at the house and ended up not coming back here that night. Someone in the neighborhood saw me drop off stuff and leave. When I didn't come back, they called their friends and broke in and spent some time going through the boxes. The safe was coming on the next trip. :cryyy:

Some of those "collectibles" were acquired when I was in England way back in the early 70's

No matter what -- It's just stuff ;)

Peace,
dave

Sorry Dave, couldn't resist. No offense meant. You know it wasn't me right? The UK is a heck of a long way to come from for a burglary!

Theft sucks at any time. It isn't just the missing stuff either, it's the invasion of personal space. Sounds like there was some pretty personal stuff there too. Birth certs, passport... and especially the last items.

Stupidity doesn't come close to barefaced greed.

I'm truly speechless after reading about your loss... that really is just terrible. I'm glad that all the amazing people here at LPF were able to help you out and get going again, and it really is inspiring to hear that you've recovered since then and are able to say such wise words about the incident (as quoted above).

Kudos, Dave. Kudos.

peace & thanks

I had to learn to think like that in 1995 when the house burned down with all my "stuff" in it.

Luckily the BBC pressed records were not in there......

Bouncing back and moving forward is all we can do.

Dave I had a car that my father had crushed on me... Long story.

I had around 1000 dollars worth of things in it.

The shock of it came a bit later... then tons of anger. I'm still not over it... but nothing I can do now. So I know how it feels. I lost 20 years worth of my own art work in there. Not included in the price either
