My 7 watter diode's glass window unbounded and while trying to do something about it i killed it, It's going to be a very long time before i'll be able to do anything about it.....

Dam i'm bummed out, If i had a rope, Oh well such is life.........

Accu, I haven't been round' here all that long, but one thing I've noticed is the amount of grief that you get. Some of it self inflicted and deserved, some not. Although either way, it also seems like you and others thrive on it all. Some label it 'attention whoring' 'trolling' etc; I simply prefer to view the rich pageantry of life as 'Entertaining'. This web forum medium is naturally very limited in it's scope, so it's often hard to tell what the intentions are of the entities on the other end of the line. So the default is that most folks take things at face value, or interpret things to fit into their preconceived notions and comfort zones.

So your click-bait thread here, has again been entertaining and informative especially in light of @Alien Laser's awesome gesture. For all the stirring up of things you do with ye'olde poop spoon, to have a member here step up like they did, is a rather pleasant 'tell' that's representative of this forum in a very real world practice for all to see. And FWIW, I also understand why many peeps feel that if someone habitually stirs the poop, that the person stirring it should be compelled to lick the spoon.

Another thing that I noticed since visiting here, is the wide variety of designs and hosts available and in use. Barely limited by imaginations.
And when I first viewed your 'Thor's Hammer' build, I found it be interesting in a most 'throwback' sort of way. The oversized, exposed heat sink fins with the red rubber O'ring gasket reminded me of some nascent space age Elizabethan collar. In concert with the vintage captured safety switch and general utilitarian cobble, to me looked like it was straight out of the late 50's early 60's. Again due to this web medium, it's hard to say if this was part of your intentions to start with, or simply the form follows function way that the build progressed.

This build of yours also brought back to mind a little ditty from the past as well. And after pulling it up and reviewing the video clip, I feel it's most apropos to share it here and request that once you have resuscitated it, consider including this tune as part of the soundtrack in the next video you make featuring the rejuvenated 'Thor's Hammer'.
I have a hunch that your 'fans' could also relate. :D

Everyone is welcome to their opinions, Just one thing about opinions is they don't have to be correct and many times they are not, Such is the case here...........

I can best be describes by "don't hit me because i'll hit back twice as hard", And i'll be the first to admit I can at times be a emotional person but I'm working on that., On the other hand if you are nice to me you would be hard pressed find a more nicer, generous person than I.....

I use to repair Accutron 214 watches for people and I am VERY good at it and my rates were always below what anyone else would charge for a lesser quality repair BUT you would prob be surprised to learn just how many watches I fixed for free because the person couldn't afford to pay someone to fix a watch they bought off ebay thinking they were getting a great deal only to find out they did not.......

Suggesting I make threads as "click-bait" is just ridiculous........

Exactly Jerry.

I second that well "well put CE5 "

Many people live in a daydream world of their own design for many reasons.
People believe what makes them feel comfortable, generally speaking, and if they do no harm anyone else, it is all fine, well, and good, individual choice---however----very commonly you see people pursuing their "dream" tending to forget that when you choose the behavior, you choose the consequences especially when it comes to interacting with other indiviudals.
This often generates unnecessary conflicts, problems, and troubles, which is unfortunate in many cases.
Another thing I see all the time is people repeating the same mistakes over and over again ignoring the negative or undesirable result experienced each and every time, preferring to feel they are "victims" of others or a cold cruel world in general when in fact they are simply victims of themselves/their own lack of flexibility and willigness to adapt to ther ever changing world and situations they find themselves in.

Something I do when changing out a lens such as a G2 is to let my laser cool down to room temp, I don't know that it's necessary but I believe it's a good idea.

---EDIT---

At least it's not 150.00 diode, I have killed my share of those, plus there's something nice about a fresh new LD.

How did yours die, you say it unbounded?

----EDIT----

No one gives up because of a 65 dollar diode, these are just some of my dead soldiers many costing 140.00 each, so what really happened ?

Your wife/parole officer stopped by for a surprise visit, took one look at that ceiling fan and your burnt monitor and took it away.

Was it something involving the fire department?

Come on man, laughter is the best medicine, show us some pics......I know, you were changing G2 lenses and decided to clean your diodes window with that silly clay, Right....be honest.

-------EDIT-------

Did you leave it in your pants pocket and send it through the washing machine?
I did that with a 5 dollar greenie once, dried the dam thing too, it was cooked.

Red,
As usual, great sense of humor. I just PMd you. Had a bunch lost in the mail and did not insure. They are finicky little buggers that is for certain.

Your all welcome to your incorrect assumption based opinions, After all I can't make you be right as that is something you'll have to figure out on your own in your own time, I'm sure it will take some much longer than others......

Just know that you don't truly know someone even after as many as 1000 short posts and to think other wise is just ridiculous.....
