Weird uses for lasers

i was browsing the web trying to find a way to keep birds from pooping and siting on my dock and found this.

for 1189.79$ where could it go wrong!@!
Heck for that much i might as well automate my paint ball gun or airsoft and watch them come....
Any one ever heard of this kinda thing befor?
Or even weirder stuff?

Yup, I've heard of it, but most of the time they just use fireworks, or blanks.

If you were to list all the possible uses for lasers, you would have a thick book by the time you finished.
Everyday I read of some other use for lasers.
Mercedes-Benz is now using them to automatically stop your car, if you are about to rear-end somebody.
In the history of greatest photonic inventions, the laser comes in second only to the light bulb.(but has saved hundreds of thousand's more lives)

i just don't think i laser would scare a way birds as i found out squirrels love to chase them. any one ever see what happens if you shine a green laser near a bird? let alone a liquid sky effect.

Squirrels have dichromatic vision. They would probably perceive the green laser dot as "black"

Birds not only appear to have the full range of color vision that we have, they can even see into the UV range.

I would think that these two types of animals would react to green laser light very differently.

well if it doesnt work you wil have birds flying all aroud trying to catcha a laser. i would just make kipkays laser show hack with the pager motors lasers and mirrors.inside a eveready torch

A green laser scares birds away, try it with a normal green laser and birds on a power line. They freak out and take off quick.

It does work for sure.

I've been using my greenie to convince the geese to leave from outside my bedroom window. I won't even get into the reasons why they are a problem (anyone with a geese problem will understand). It seems to be about the most humane way I can think of to get rid of them and not disturb or endanger any humans in the process. If it's dark out, and you shine the greenie towards them - they begin to go panic mode to swim or scoot away from the beam. Once you put the dot on them, they typically scoot faster and or fly away instantly. They do not like the greenie. I don't mess with any other types of birds, and the other birds don't cause any trouble.

I go fishing at a small lake and when they aint biting I fool around with the ducks on the lake.
The beam could surely scare them up and out of the water, when flying you can redirect the flight direction by fanning the beam in front of them or under.

House, cars, sidewalk.. that's a little bothersome. It's the waking me up at all hours of the night that gets me. They'll stand outside, or float in the water and honk non-stopped for usually no more than 10 minutes burst (all together like a chorus). The problem comes when they sit silent, and I'm sleeping at night.. then all at once they all start honking thier heads off for 10 minutes. With the windows closed it wakes me up once or twice a week. If I leave the windows open, it would be multiple times per night.

Since I've been off of work for more than a week now, I've been more aggressive with the greenie vs. geese. When they see me come to the window (in response to the honking) they start floating the other way across the pond. I've even popped into the window, then went directly to the laser & out the back door to tell them to get moving.. by the time I got out there, they were already gone. I'm surprised how quick they are learning and becoming conditioned to know that seeing me means they are going to be seeing the scary green deathwand soon. This evening (the first evening in a long time) there have been no geese that I am aware of.. just a few ducks, and they are able to just relax without making a bunch of noise.

The other asshole geese activity.. if the geese are out there in the pond, and another type of bird tries to come land in the water, the geese will chase the other bird off.. as if they own the whole pond. Somehow the ducks are exempt from this rule, but anything else the geese will go chase off.

yeah i have a guy who lives a few houses down who was making one for his paint ball gun. last i knew it shot everything around it. he was never able to limit distance or size but was fun to try to out run it.

ROTFL, more than 1000$ for a 10mW "fat beam" green module with a "liquid sky" scanner ? ..... :gun:

If someone of you want to buy them, i may sell same items for under $500, included shipping ..... also 50 mW instead 10, too :crackup:

We also had some guys here scaring bats with Blu-Rays.
