I was wondering if anybody knew where I could purchase a couple of the 1 inch glass uranium marbles. I was thinking two crackled and two regular, but I would buy whatever I could get. I didn't really want to take the chance on eBay not knowing what I would be buying I trust folks on here a lot more.

I am able to and know how to search for things I want to buy, I was asking on here rather than going to eBay because I recall reading a thread of someone selling marbles here that were somehow better or higher quality than others, I was not being lazy or not searching first.

If your lucky enough to get the green ones get them while you can. They aren't made anymore. I hear the yellow custard/Vaseline glass ones don't glow as much. You need a 405nm laser or black light or UV light and they really glow bright yellow.

Re: Uranium marbles

This might be relevant, search for "glow pebbles". Strontium aluminate or zinc sulfate powder mixed with plastic injection molded into a shape of pebbles. Looks cool in fish tanks and can also be excited with a laser (though few hundred watts might melt the plastic).

Re: Uranium marbles

I can recommend this site: anythingradioactive home
Their supplies vary time to time, you can always just ask, if they don't have exactly the thing you are looking for.

Re: Uranium marbles

Yes I found plenty on ebay, I was trying to avoid buying them there but I received 7 large shooters for around $9 including shipping today and they are exactly what they should be.

Sorry if I offended. I saw you searched on eBay first before posting, my search comment wasn't directed specifically at you.

Problem is I've seen people for months posting about how they can't find them anymore!

They are still out there, as you know, it's just a matter of searching the right things. I was hoping anyone else looking would benefit from the search terms I posted.

I don't think anyone was being offensive.
But in defense of Willjoe21 in my opinion there are few members in this forum and in just about every other forums who post "just google it" or "just search the forum" to almost every question which is both annoying and offensive. Though I again I don't think anyone was being like that here. Probably Willjoe21 had such experiences here or somewhere else recently and just needed only slightly similar response to finally express his frustration. has happened to me once.

As to why "just google it" or "just search the forum" can be annoying or offensive *in some cases* is
1) The forum search engines can be pretty poor
2) Sometimes the info you remember is on the forum is buried in some unrelated thread and for someone who, unlike you, hasn't seen it is a lot harder to find.
3) Sometimes you just don't know what phrase(s) to search for. Could be either because of your "search skills" or you simply not knowing the technical and/or more widely used term for something.

It should be understandable why getting a response suggesting to search for it in such cases without at least suggesting exactly what worlds to search for can be offensive as seeming like an assumption the person doesn't know how to search or is being lazy. But I can also understand why some people reply like that as there are indeed people who post and are lazy to search for themselves.
My suggestion to everyone would be to not assume something about someone from past experience with someone else.

The marbles I did find a little bit back never even said they were the Vaseline ones!So when they showed up I wasn't too happy. I have a few large chucks, like in my profile pic. I just want some marbles and I Missed out on the recent large sale.
