Yes, that's my understanding. The Thor MII has the glass lens unlike the earlier Thor model which had an acrylic lens. It sounds like you lucked out.

Yeah, I love it, besides the fact the batteries seem to die somewhat quickly. Also, the charger it came with never changes from blinking red, after charging all night. Have you had this problem? Using for 5-10-15 minutes not that heavily causes it to lose a lot of beam strength and the batteries need to be charged for a while to work again. I've ordered a charger from Nitecore, whether or not that does anything with speed of charging, at least I will know when they are charged fully.

They say they are 650mAh, which might be the problem.

I haven't used mine enough to really test out the battery which came with it. It's worked OK for the little time I've had it on. I have some Efests and AWs that I'll use if that supplied battery gives any problems.

Regarding the charger that came with it, I just tossed that into a box with the other cheap chargers that often come with lasers and lights. I don't trust those no-name cheap chargers and I won't even give them away to someone for fear that they'll have a problem with their batteries trying to use that charger. I'll probably eventually just throw them away.

I'm glad to hear that you've ordered a good charger for your batteries. I'm not familiar with the Nitecore charger but it's a good name. I use 4Sevens, Pila, Xtar, and Opus BT-C3400s for charging my Lion batteries. Yes, I'm out of control on chargers. I'm sure I'll also wind up getting a SkyRC MC3000 or two also before this year has ended. :D

I just got the charger, put the batteries in there and I guess we'll see. I also ordered some Nitecore 16340's. Do the batteries that came with your Thor have a blue color and say "ICR16340"? Also, thanks for the discussion and insight.

When I see your username I can't stop laughing, I am in a lot of pain and have an irregular heartbeat, it hurts when I laugh. If you have blue batteries with no brand name those are the worst batteries, it's not unusual for them to last only a few minutes. Ultrafire aren't much better, best to avoid them too, with those two you can ignore the mAh number printed on the battery.

Well, it is a sad day. The laser rolled off my table, and then when I turned it on it was weaker than normal and had a shadow like some parts inside were obstructing the light. I gave it a tap with my palm and it turned off and will not turn back on. If I can even get the host open, does this seem like some wire coming lose or something that might be fixed?

DickAtRightAngle, you might have broke a connection loose or busted the diode, I know they're sensitive to shock sometimes. Your best bet is probably to open it up and see what's going on inside.

Also, your username, why specifically at a right angle?

I'll try to. I can take off the tip of the laser and be close to the lense, and on either side there are two small holes. Do I use something to stick in there and turn it I wonder? Or is it sealed shut?

When I played a lot of CSGO, I'd always tell my team of how I "Rammed into my bedframe at maximum velocity, and it bent my penis into a right angle." I'd explain the recovery process, how that shit could be used in math class, and all the internal bleeding. It was the best when I was nonchalantly top-fragging or winnning a 1v5 situation while telling it.

Ugh. Exactly why is this necassary. The forum has lost enough respect already without adding more crudeness. Is this really the direction everyone wants to take the forum in? Do so many members not care anymore that what made the forum special was not allowing this kind of stuff? Why is this username appropriate here and why is it being cheered?

Pman you are absolutely right, we are seeing the decline and fall of a once great civilization, I see it in the news everyday and it shows here in the forum too.

DARA, please change your user name. It just grosses me out every time I see it and now that you confirmed thats what it is, its even worse. What about "DARA" as a new name?

It's just a username. A little joke. You guys really need to lighten up. You fear the forum is going down hill and want to attribute it to small things like a little joke username, because you don't want to accept that maybe it's just fading simply, because. I don't really think it's that bad of a site, but to be completely honest, look at this place, the "top" links lead to an unregistered domain, I'm clearly not the problem here. Besides my name, I've been nothing but nice, I feel.

Why?
In a world filled with vulgarity should we tolerate it here, a refuge of science and intellect, a place away from such?
I have no doubt your intentions were not bad, but when faced with the fact it's unsettling to some members, why not immediately change it?

A refuge of science and intellect :D:D:D

Wow, ahaha. Hm, a "refuge". This isn't some special club away from the rest of the world, it's a forum for everyone who enjoys lasers. Also, if you really want to act like this place is some extraordinary gathering of intellectuals, then maybe it should be realized vulgarity is nothing more than sounds we make with our mouths. Words on a screen, nothing more. "Curse" words are no different than other vibrations of air molecules, just that we're conditioned to hold them to a higher significance than others. I will not change my name because someone is so easily-disturbed as to become disgusted by a username, a little bit of text, on a screen. Is that intelligent enough for you?

We've all got the freedom to make choices, if that's the way DickAtRightAngle wants to be seen as then all we can do is look down on it and recommend against it, or just accept his "true identity"

In all seriousness, his choice to set it as he wishes, even if not accepted or if he wishes to make himself look like an idiot, is his. Let's prevent this as cause of some unnecessary drama, shall we?

Actually this isn't a forum for "everyone" who like lasers as many have found out;) You just got here and instead of respecting forum etiquette you respond by telling us who and what we are with no regard for members or the "tone" of the forum.
Everyone gets the same advice. Be nicer than you have to be and thankful for everyone who helps. Try and give back where you can whether it be a review, information or other forms of helps.
