Hey, I am getting some lasers from rayfoss soon, and as they will be my first high powered lasers I need ideas! Anything helps, I will try out each and every one of the ideas as long as they dont pose a danger to myself. Sorry, but i will not look into the beam....I know, I'm a party pooper :p

Get a piece of aluminum foil, and cut two fine parallel slits in it close together with a razor blade.

YouTube - Dr Quantum - Double Slit Experiment

Holy Shit! MIND FUCKED! But....ummm......okay......lemme think.....so then do the photons in the Beam of the laser act like the electrons? Like do they cause an interference pattern?.....I gotta say, this is the best thing I have seen so far about what to do with your laser.....I've seen burn, I've seen melt, I've seen beam shots.....but you sir have just opened my mind.... +rep

Now, I reaallly cant wait for my laser to come in!

If you don't know what to do with it you shouldn't have got it in the first place, bird brain.

It's not that I don't know what to do with a laser, I have got TONS of ideas, which I will fully exploit, but for example the useful reply here by AJ_Dual, I know little to nothing about quantum physics, so I would never have thought to attempt this effect. It's things like this that, which allow people to synergistically coexist by combining their knowledge and coming out a more intelligent, openminded individual. By the way, I think that's actually the general purpose of a forum.....just sayin'.

PS-thank you again AJ for that great idea

If you have any diffraction gratings, try them out. There is also the lumia effect, search "lumia wheel", this is the beam going through different glasses and plastics that disperse the beam, giving light show effects. Get a couple of motors and small mirrors and make a spiro. Also try the laser tunnel effect with one mirror and motor. A fog machine (quite cheap) is a very useful laser accessory.
