This is true.. you can find more info here

The ceramic type caps are used in high frequency applications. Typically, they are used in circuits which bypass high frequency signals to ground. Which in this case is ideal.. other types of caps can also do the same thing, but I recommend that these are used for their compatibility, price, efficiency and most of all their size.

Hence why I said....

just as efficient for this application as the SMD.

They should sell both, but the ceramic ones are the more common ones.... I guess

That my main supplier for our most of our R & D needs...

Sorry to disagree... I've been dealing with Digikey for over 9 years.
Can't be done with DigiKey.... their last order taken to be shipped
that same day is at 8:00PM Central Time.
Any orders after 8:00PM will ship the next day..:cool:
