I was HOOKED big time on both DIY PJs and LEMs instantly- at SELEM Oct 2010- in NOv I held my own LEM and it was a huge success as first time LEMs go- I began to gather psrts to build a 3.5 W RGB full colors PJ .. a woark (still ) in progress- i keep upgrading my parts and have PJs from Laserking to use so-
Like PJs- and our beloved handhelds the LEMs themselves are addicting- and being around just a few like-minded folks is nice BUT when its 100 people talkin' laser- sharing and enjoying them and the shows n music-- has to be seen in person to understand--we watch 12 hours of shows or more each day- two venues in the same complex- Club SELEM for beam Shows and Atmospherics and the big audiitorium for graphics, abstracts and animations etc-
Our non forum guests attend free- all sign the same insurance waiver- no exceptions- its SOP at ALL LEMs afaik--

'Any LEM of two(or moar) members and one (or moar) laser is a good LEM'

FRI & SAT 10$ to enter the Fair- cook-off is free once inside- we give away the food and draft beer ( 21 kegs)
THUR however is totally free- and we will be one of the VERY few already set up and cooking ( this year two huge batches of GUMBO n rice) One seafood and the other chicken and sausage- Our gumbo 'chef' has won awards for his gumbo=

Well I hate to say it but tonight is not going to end up working out. I was very excited to get to meet some of the people I talk to on the forum all the time but as usual life gets in the way. Suffice it to say there were familial and work related issues. I hope when we have a TEXLEM next I will be able to clear my schedule more completely. Who knows, maybe my super at work will figure out what off means lol.

The beauty of having one near you is free lodging and little travel.

For liability reasons LEMs afaik are never 'open to the public'
