Well I don't think Matt is really up to organizing a meet. He seems very busy, so now I'm planning just a laser meet. Hopefully it will be in late September, or early October. Again we need a new location unless y'all are willing to split the 90$ it costs to rent the pavilion.

Bit of a drive but I am up for it. Places like Holiday Inn ETC give discounts to groups and often provide large meeting room free of charge(I worked for Ramada Inn for 6 years)

If we have a good turnout in DFW maybe we could have another in the fall-- I can offer a totally free night of food(BBQ) beer and music at the Brazoria County Fair in mid October(on a Thur night btw). I am a vet member of a huge Cook-off team and we go ALL OUT every year. I could ask Dr.Maricle(AxiZ) if he could help host and be a speaker- We could try to get a hotel near Hobby Airport--thats about half-way between Houston and the Fair grounds. Maybe Extreme Lasers could help out as well(Seabrook) just an idea to think about. I will send you a link that will make you hungry--len

That sounds awesome Hak! That is one LONG drive though somethin like 6 hours I'd guess... Well we'll see what happens I might go if it doesn't conflict with school.

Go figure. I won't be moving soon enough to make the one in Virginia. And I'll be leaving before this one happens. Hope ya'll have fun.

I'm actually heading to Dallas tomorrow and will be there until sometime Sunday.

Sounds like a good idea.

We have been putting on a similar meeting with the Candlepower forum at a nice park in Arlington.

Here is the link from the last one (may have to register):

CPF Meeting

It did require reserving one of the covered pavillions for a night of Bar-B-Que.

If you want to wait into August, the CPF group would probably co-host another meeting.

I had my Hi-Power Green, BR and Red at the last one, and there were some good places for long beam shots.

I was trying my 445nm with a new lens last night at ~ 2 miles.

Aircraft800 (Matt) is the one to talk to.

He has organized the last 3 or 4 for the CPF group and obtained some nice door prizes.

MISTERWILLING has his white scanner operating here in Dallas.
He has expressed interest in the CPF meetings.

Alright I registered at CPF, but it wont let me do anything. If it still doesn't work in a couple days I'll have to get someone else to speak to him about it.

Hmm how far are you? 4 hours? And I realized there could be a problem with having the meet outside especially since it's summer. We would have really short duty cycles
