I would like you guys to point me in the direction of where I can buy a 1-2w 445-450nm blue laser that I can use to light matches, paper leaves, kindling etc... I would like it to hold a 3000 MAH of higher battery.

I think that is the type I need to burn something. If more powerful will guarantee burn then I'm good with that as long as I can keep it under $300.00

I really love building my own things as well. So you can point me in that direction as well if that your knowledge base.

what do you guys think of these for my purposes to burn holes or light matches, paper, etc...?

1. 2000mW Circle Straight Type High Power Blue Light Laser Pointer Suit Silver at Laserpointerpro.com

2. 2000mW High Power Attacked Head Blue Laser Pointer Suit Silver at Laserpointerpro.com

3. 2000mW 450nm Focus Pure Blue Beam Light Laser Pointer Pen with 18650 Rechargeable Battery Black at Laserpointerpro.com

4. 2000MW 455nm Light Torch Shape Beam Blue Laser Pointer Black (2 x 880mAh) at Laserpointerpro.com
can I use the parts from my other one to make this longer so I can use the TR18650 3000mAh battery?

Reply with the number 1 2 3 or 4 of the one you recommend.
They seem like a pretty reasonably priced but will they fill the purpose I want? If not then please show your recomendation.

Laserpointerpro isn't a very good site to buy from, especially not for your budget. I'll list a few well known sites that deliver nothing but great quality lasers and customer support.

Jetlasers PL-E Pro series 445nm This is a very good company with high quality lasers at a reasonable price. Their PL-E Pro hosts look awesome have a temporary power on/off button as well as a constant power on/off button.

Sci-Fi lasers 445nm Another great seller that is known on this forum. He too has good quality lasers for a bit less than Jetlasers. You do however get a nicer host at Jetlasers, but that's what makes their prices higher as well.

LaserBTB 445nm A nice laser with it's price between the Sci-Fi lasers and Jetlasers. Most of their lasers have a security system on it that require several steps to turn the laser on.

And as last, this: Eagle Pair® 190-540nm Standard Laser Safety Goggles
This is a pair of good quality safety goggles that you absolutely need to use when operating such a high powered laser. Whichever laser you decide to buy, get a pair of these goggles too.

Kevin you can do research by using the search bar on the site and look at old threads. That should help. There are also builders with in LPF that can help as well.

Thank you as well Vortish but I decided to bypass the endless searching I could end up doing by asking the community to chime in with what they know is good and what to stay away from.

i would reccomend laserbtb, you can expect higher than specified output powers from all their lasers. heres a link to their blue/violet lasers up to 1W: HL 405,445,450nm
now for lasers higher than that, but in bigger, more expensive hosts for longer duty cycles: PL 405/445nm 500-2000mW

i wouldn't get anything from one of those cheap chinese laser sites, already made that mistake too many times.

Thank you again Gozert. I purchased this one from jet. most powerful blue laser handheld, 5w 6w blue laser 445nm portable, 445nm 3.5w 4w blue laser pointers jetlasers.

My payment was accepted on my end but it still says awaiting payease payment. So I have no idea how their billing works or when I'll get the laser and glasses.

Oh yeah their glasses are about $5.00 cheaper than the glasses you pointed me to.

Nice! You've bought yourself a good quality laser. The awaiting payment takes a couple days to get processed. You can email them about it if you want. Be sure to let us how it is when you receive it :)

I absolutely will let you know how it is. I'm excited to get it and play with it so I might make a vid and put it up so you guys can see how it is. I'm kinda bummed that the one in a PS3 isn't good enough cause I was planning on building a CNC machine around it. I think someone on here told me that the ones in a PS3 or other blue-ray players won't do anything but I saw some youtube vids where it did.

Great choice---JetLasers are professional level high quality lasers with a lot of nice features not found on others + their customer service is the best in the business.

Which power/output level did you buy?

Am starting to think "troll" again as you don't seem to know the output power of the laser you bought??

There is no 0-5W laser --that just represents 5 output power levels offered in the range of 0-5W.

By what output power, I meant which one in that grouping 1.6W, 2W, 3.5W, 4W focusable model or the 4.5-5W fixed focus.? They are all offered on that link.
